Spot on! I will add the patient who always refuses radiographs and the patient who is upset about cost of tx or a billing issue and takes it out on you.

The extraction post ops made me laugh! I have discussed keeping physical activity low and cease alcohol only to have patients tell me they played 18 holes of golf or had wine while line dancing all night. Duh***%%##!##@#@$%@&@*@*(!!!!!!!!! Take responsibility!!! Also: the bozos who have red wine right after Zoom. $500 down the drain and she had the nerve to be mad at me!!!

pt kept coughing and spiting during entire procedure. the mere thought of my suction made her gag so every min shes spitting in bowl fine. dr needs to cement the crown with PERMANENT cement(c. after getting everything ready making sure shes fine, not coughing not gagging, we precede. Tooth was placed and before he could do anything shes spitting and gagging and had to start all over. ugh

So I've been watching your videos here lately cuz I am thinking about a career change into this field. But something happened to me one time at the dentist & I've wondered ever since how common it is.. so I believe he was attaching my first (& only 🤞) crown and it slipped out of his forcep (?) and almost went down my throat! Thankfully the back of my tongue stopped it, but does that happen often??

Ok...But some of these are a bit unkind.Many people have phobias about dentists and dental procedures. For many people it really helps to talk them through the procedure- either explaining and showing them everything before hand,ie this is what we'll use to clean out the bacteria, then we will rinse and dry with this,then we will use this etching and bonding to help retention, then use a light cure etc..it helps the anxiety alot! Or- My daughter had a filling and asked the dentist what every single thing was and I chose a very patient dentist that explained everything while doing it- it really helped her understand and cooperate😊. I work in an office that specialises in dentaphobes and we have to be extra patient. I too get a bit anxious when everyone leaves me after being injected... Btw- I have a hard time with barfing and we had a barfer once😣 it was bad
@mchobbit2951 Жыл бұрын
Thank you. As someone with a phobia, videos like this often make me more hesitant to seek care when I need it because I fear that I'll just annoy everybody and come across as just needy and annoying and high-maintenance. I already feel like the worst patient and like the dentist will just kick me out and say that I'm not treatable anyway. A lot of these things people just CAN'T HELP. I don't think that anyone WANTS to gag or struggle with their own tongue through the procedure. We all just want to get it over with as quickly and easily as possible as well! I needed three mandibular block injections before one took. If I had been left alone in the room with all of the equipment every time, I would have probably walked out. Every second that I am left alone with everything about to be used on me on display, my anxiety just goes up and up. I wish it wasn't so and that I didn't have to ask to go the waiting room or outside and have them tell me when to come back. Most people really don't want to be annoying.

lol I don't think youre an a-hole. I actually think you could probably set more boundaries with your patients. I would have told that woman, "Sorry, I have a whole list of things to do, but here's a magazine for some entertainment. Dentist will be here soon!"
@mchobbit2951 Жыл бұрын
I get that you guys have a lot of things to do, but that patient was probably TERRIFIED. The worst part of the dentist's appointment for me is hands down being left alone while waiting with all of the scary instruments about to be used on me lined up in front of me. It just makes me worry about what is going to happen to me next. I know Cheyenne said that the patient was not nervous, but you cannot always tell. I'm not saying stay with her, but I don't think you understand how hard it is for some people, so just have some compassion instead of labelling people as Karens. You are not a hairdresser or a nail tech, some people are genuinely afraid of dentistry.
@thisismyprivateaccount6546 Жыл бұрын
@@mchobbit2951 let me just say as a hairdresser, people even get extremely nervous in the chair. 😂 usually because of a previous bad experience with another hairdresser, but they can and sometimes do.
@mchobbit2951 Жыл бұрын
@@thisismyprivateaccount6546 Oh wow. I guess the upside here is that you can just avoid the hairdresser forever and grow really long hair or shave your own head or something. Most of us aren't that lucky with the dentist. Videos like this really aren't encouraging when you have a phobia. People really can't help things like strong gag reflexes. It just makes you more reluctant to go back because most of us really don't WANT to be annoying.
@thisismyprivateaccount6546 Жыл бұрын
@@mchobbit2951 So true!!! lol if you feel annoying with a gag reflex at the dentist, you can at least rest assured that the people who work there see it all the time and are used to it
