Hi, I’ll be applying for a 13 week dental assistant program? Will this help me get a career in this field? I plan on taking an EFDA course after also? This place I found also offers a fluoride application and coronal polishing course and a Nitrous Oxide Administration course! If anybody has thoughts, let me know! I’m using quizlet to prepare myself and watching lots of videos on here! I’m totally new to all of this. I’m currently a project manager for fire restoration, so complete career change and I just not sure how to get my foot in the door :)

You should NOT be trying to do this yourself there are so many factors at play. Some people have extra long roots and if you pull it wrong can cause numbness in your face or worse from damage to the nerves. You can also break a root off and it stay in the socket with nerves still live which is painful and will be infected which can turn septic. I understand people cannot afford it, but it will cost you way more if you screw it up trying yourself. Most dentists extract for about $150-$200 bucks half that if you have Dental Insurance. Please go to a dentist unless its an emergency and you cannot get to a dentist I am sure this info is to let folks know what to expect and not for practicing dentistry on yourself.

That’s SUPER petty and unprofessional of that Dental Office Manager to call an instructor at your school and complain about how you quit. I don’t put up with pettiness. It is your business and your business alone of why you feel you need to leave a job. Now I’m wondering if DA is even going to be for me because I just will not put up with a lack of respect from my employers.

I just want to mention for those new to the field like me that working interviews MUST be paid in the US. Know your rights. No office can ask you to work for free, even if you have no experience, were only there a few hours, etc.

facial = face lingual = language (tounge) mesial = closer to the midline distal = distant from the midline occlusal/ incisal = the part where the teeth come together (occlude) midline = the line down the middle of the face/ the symmetry line lingual is in the middle of the chart if the chart looks like this (facial) (D) OOOOO0oo (m)|(m)oooOOOOO (D) (lingual) (molars) (front&canine) (molars) (lingual) (D)OOOOO0oo(m)|(m)oo0OOOOO(d) (facial) (the line is the midline) ( | ) if its closest to the line ( | ) its mesial if its farther from the line its distal 0 = wisdom/ molar/ premolar 0= canine o= incisors (front teeth including the little teeth next to them) like she said theres 32 teeth total in the adult mouth the wisdom, molars, premolars, and Incisal are all included in order from 1-8 then backwards from 9-16 the. forwards from 17-24 then backwards to 32 i promise if youre struggling with this talk to your om or superior about it and they will help you, if not then yputube and google will be your best friend. look up hoe to set up rooms procedures from different doctors because not every doctor does every procedure the same but i promise once it clicks its so easy ive been doing this for 3mo with absolutely no schooling i went from being a server at dave and busters to being a da in the matter of my application being accepted i promise you you can do it esp if you went to school and if u didnt its gonna take more work but you WILL get it even if its not at the office youre currently working it. u got this

As someone who is currently pregnant and working as a dental assistant, I’ve been a DA for two years but first pregnancy during so, and I too am leaving at 34 weeks. I also feel so validated knowing you’re no confrontational too because same 😅 so I’ve definitely felt like someone people don’t get not everyone experiences pregnancy differently. I don’t recommend being pregnant in the dental field 😭
