I love the idea of the tool, the features and that you can install chezmoi and your dotfiles in a single file because the tool is just a single binary. however OTOH, is one tool doing a lot of things, doesn't follow the UNIX philosophy

Really need to setup my dotfiles repo, and I'm leaning toward chezmoi. The trick will be making things portable across Linux / macOS (just in case), as e.g. some programs put things in ~/.config/ on Linux and ~/Library/Application Support/ on macOS. I know chezmoi can do this, and some dotfile managers, I'm not sure they can.
