Hmar is called SINLUNG which is frequently mentioned in their traditional songs[9]. Some of them may be cited thus: My motherland, famous Sinlung, Home of my ancestors. Out of Sinlung, Jumped I out like a Mithun; Innumerable were encounters, With the children of men My father’s footsteps were remarkably good, Sinlung’s footsteps were indeed remarkably good.

If you really intrested about Singlung History just read the Hmar history will tells you everything you want. Among the Zohnathlak tribes the Hmar has deepest history record trough a song, folk song, poem. I hope these will clear you the history of us. Remember, here the time no Hmar , Lushei, Pawi, Paite, Ralte, Sailo,Thadou etc. This show that we are all in one community. Still then many us reject our ancestors land Singlung.

Hmar tribes may hold one of the largest sub-group within Mizoram. But since the coming of the British and the use of Mizo tawng, no sub tribes except those in the periphery speaks their separate language. Nir do they find the need, Mizo language has become a means of unification.

@Sawma_Hmar-n7l Acknowledged... I also identify as Hmar. But then within Mizoram, in general people don't find the need to be Hmar speaking hmar or Paihte speaking paihte etc etc. If we keep pushing our differences there can never be unity. Being Mizo makes us united. Also, its is most essential to uncover the migration history of the tribes. Hopefully this can build a spirit of unity. How some settled in the Myanmar regions, while others moved on into the now Indian territory... As well as the continued movements of tribes into the now Manipur, Tripura, Assam, Meghalaya and Bangladesh. We are a large group of people - we can be a great nation only by finding our similarities not differences. ..

Even the so called old kuki tribes who today consider themselves to be under the Greater Nagas fold have the same cave emergences in their mythology/folk tales, let alone the other cultural and linguistic similarly with the greater Chin-lushai-Kuki ethnic family group, a nomenclature given by colonial British anthropologist.

Israel story made up by Biakmawia of the "pawl chhuak" category for personal ambitions; DNA test of 3 mizo persons showed not a hint of Middle East DNA rather it showed more than >72% Vietnam/Chinese,Thai,...DNA; BUT the Israeli story tell their Torah is in China(correction maybe needed); personally a person have the right to think spiritually that they are from a desert but otherwise "Hell no" no offence.

In our lore it was foretold that Mizo's will return to the tree one day after their long journey, the tree is nearby a buddhist monastery now ; something else also I want to mention and be corrected if needed in Kachin lore it was told their elder brother(s) [Khang] chin will return someday from his long journey so in old Kachin homes then they build and prepare an extra room for their older brother so he would be pleased.

@@wooba4227 Burmese Kathe/Meiteis True History It's not that the burmese had defeated the meitei and kept under their subjection...the meitei love to be under the burmese domain...as it is written in the Burmese Record. The burmese had 3 kingdom..meitei needless to say are slave to them. The 3rd kingdom was built by Alawng Phayar son of Musoephu(Shwebo village). The meitei had made a sacrificial ceremony of peace with him. while the king invaded Yangoon, pegu, taungoo ,etc, and enlarge his dominion.... the meitei revolted against him. Therefore, in 1756 he invaded the meitei. When his son came into the throne and while he was invading Thailand...again the meitei revolted and he with 20 thousands troops invaded the meitei. Shinphyushin was known as a bloody King. He ransacked Thailand city called Ayudaya...they shifted the city to Bangkok and become the capital city till date. While china and burmese are at war...meitei again revolted and were invaded in 1768 again. Meitei last revolt with the support of the English was in 1824 when there was a war within the bumese royal family. This is also known as the 1st war between English and burmese. This also pave the way for the English to conquere Arakan meitei and south of burma. Both meitei and shan people had made a sacrificial ceremony of peace with the burmese. Shan hardly made revolt for they had peace within the family....nor they done petty job under the burmese. Meitei on the other hand had fought among the family for rulership and often sought the burmese for help. And often revolted by taking advantage when the burmese royal family is within at war. Meitei looked after the burmese elephant, horse and others domestic animals, the burmese took the meitei to do all the filthy jobs. They were dirty...devilish mind...always at war among themselves...and they were despised. Meitei king used to give their daughters to burmese king...they bribed those king so that they sleep with their daughters ! Tribal clan like Asho,Cho,Dani, etc. denied to be Burmese wife, as such tatooed their face ! These tribal women and meitei kings were differ like heaven & hell.

@theredleaf1275 Yes, but before migrating to Makhel, it is believed that the Rongmei people like the other Nagas inhabited in the hills around the Yangshi River in Yunan Province in China thousands of years ago as a primitive tribes. These people had migrated from China due to forced labor under the tyranny of Shi-Huang-Di of Qin dynasty around 230-221 BCE. The elite Han Chinese used these primitive people for agriculture and as forced labor. They escaped through a cave and traversed through many seas and land during the course of their migration journey, which took thousands of years to reach their final destination at Makhel through the Myanmar(:erstwhile Burma or Siam)corridor. The significance of their connection with the seas can be seen in their traditional attires, which are consisting of sea shells, conch shells, etc. that are derived from the sea. With the passage of times, they moved to different directions for greener pastures and scattered in different territories( today's North-East, India, and Myanmar).

It’s just the differences in the language! And for your kind information, Hmar lost Proto-Kuki-Chin/Proto-Central-Chin initial ‘tsh’ while both Lusei and Lai (Hakha) retained it as ‘Chh’ sound. Thus, Chhinlung(Coverd Stone, Chhin- Cover, Lung - Stone) became Sinlung in Hmar, but Chhinlung in Lusei and Chinlung in Lai (Btw Lusei ‘CH’ is represented in Lai as only ‘C’, so Lusei ‘CHH’= Lai ‘CH’)

Thank you for excluding kuki origin,i listen carefully but you make many attempt to exempt the name kuki, if you can explain ralte, lushai, chin, hmar why not kuki manipur or tripura or Bangladesh kuki,eg thadou kuki population is much larger than hmar, ralte etc, everything start from small things,if you can't cover as a whole better to not cover it because you are creating problem inside family by hurting someone

First of all you should know that Lusei/Lushai were also known as ‘Kuki’ by the British during their first encounter! The Kuki invasion of Tripura in 1860s was also actually done by Lusei/Lushai chief Rothangpuia Thangluah known to the British as Rutton Poiya. In addition, till today those tribes known as Kuki in Tripura were more closer to Lusei . Even Rokhum were actually Lusei tribe and were till today known as Kuki in Tripura. And in Bangladesh, Lusei/Lushai were also known as Kuki along with Bawm, who were closer to Lai & Lusei, Pangkhua again closer to Lusei& Lai, Khyeng, Mro, Khumi etc who were actually closer to Lusei than Thadou were collectively known as Kuki-Chin, so you should known that there isn’t a single Kuki Tribe. And yes she did mentioned Kuki origin but not Thadou Kuki origin.

And there isn’t a single Chin tribe! Chin is an umbrella term just like Mizo. Under Chin there’s many tribes and clans like Zahau, Hualngo, Taisun, Sim, Tapong, Zanniat, Khualsim, Tidim, Sizang, Matu, Daai, Mun, Mara, Yindu, K’Cho, Ngawn, Lautu, Asho, Zotung etc
