WHAT? I remember this song! I was just 7 years old. The last time I heard it was before FM radio. Why is this song not played? She was unreal! I had forgotten. It sounds better at 56 than at 7! And it was awesome then! Listening to a modern song about thunder and lightning brought me to rediscover this song!

I was also 7 years old when this song came out! My sister had the 45 record and played it all the time! I'm still enjoying the song more than 50 years later!

Incredibly, the full version of this song actually runs about a minute longer, with the bridge & first verse repeated. Not a subsequently dubbed/extended version, but the original full session! Even the original album features the shortened version. I only happened on the full version because it was included, for some reason, on the K-Tel compilation "Superstars' Greatest Hits"-- kzbin.info/www/bejne/p5PQf3mobciImNE I still have a vinyl copy of this compilation. The cassette & CD reissues were repackaged &, again, changed to the shortened version. I had my vinyl copy of the song transferred to disc, but haven't found a way to get it uploaded here (not a computer whiz & have s relatively low-tech phone). The song really loses something for me when it's the shortened version. I asked someone at a record store once if the full version ever existed as a single. He said it was released that way in Europe.

Beautiful baby-girl Chi-who-aint-shy who like of a lot of musicians of her time ("THE NUMBER ONES of THE SUPER 70s") was part of the "ROAD TO TOMORROW" ... which of course continues on from "YESTERDAY (through to) TODAY (and on to) FOREVER" ... just two things to say unto thee ... a) Lose not thy passionate talent and b) Lose not thy drummer-who-understands!! Dear drummer, as thou art doing on the cymbal with a bit of reverb at various points, indeed "LET IT RIDE" !!! It soundeth like "SILK AND STEEL", man !!! Ooops, here cometh a few more things to say ... "pardon me" as per Bubba Hayes ... forgiveth the Uncle ... Whether or not one doth "KNOCK ON WOOD" (Eddie Floyd, Michael Bolton, Amii Stewart) this song is "THUNDER AND LIGHTNING" and it alone could be "THE COME BACK CONCERT" and definitely belongeth amongst "ROCK ARTIFACTS"!! There have been times when thy record is "GOIN' ROUND" (or "Going In Circles - I. Hayes) and to practise restraint, sayeth Uncle unto himself "I WILL NOT DANCE"; "WHO EVER TOLDETH THEE THAT THOU KNOWETH HOW TO DANCE?!?!" But dear baby-girl CC ... "T'IS NOT EASY" (which rhymes and is exactly what Lucky Dube also said!!!) ... because after a while, Uncle findeth his own limbs, without his instruction, begin to "GO LIKE ELIJAH" !!! You know?!?!?! He then asketh himself "WHAT HAPPENNETH UNTO ME"? He then concludeth "T'IS A SPELL" !!! Whereupon he glanceth at thy record with accusatory eyes as he then sayeth "OOH BABY" !!! Uncle then girdeth his loins and attempteth to fight the feeling some more as he remebereth he "DIDN'T WANT TO FALL IN LOVE" ("I never asked to fall in love witchoo" as per Bubba!!!) but thou dost insist !!! One feeleth thee sublimating "I'M GONNA MAKE THEE LOVE ME" !!! Uncle retaliates with "I JUST WANT TO RULE MINE OWN LIFE WITHOUT THEE" ... but what doth baby-girl CC continue to do? "OH HOLY NIGHT" (pardon Uncle's French!!!) she continueth to cause him to be "BLINDED BY LOVE" even though trying to "FORGET LOVE" !!! What causeth thy music to be so "LIVE", dear "CHI COLTRANE"...? GODDAMNIT!!! Well, this where Uncle must breathlessly pause ... Didst he just hear thee say "HALLELUJAH" ?!? He'll ignore that but admit he has to "untether from his bed" as opposed to "FEATHER MY BED" and get "READY TO ROLL" !!! Baby CC ... This hath been "THE MESSAGE" !!! Can I now get a "HALLELUJAH" IF NOT AN AMEN BEFORE I "GO LIKE ELIJAH" if not a "FLY AWAY BLUEBIRD" !!!
