Chiappa M1-9

Welcome back to Rickfrom406. Today's video I bring to you a M1 Carbine with a twist. This is a 9mm direct blowback that takes Beretta 92 magazines. This is a great stand in for your collection if you want a M1 carbine but want it in a useful caliber.

I have had the synthetic version for a year now. Have had one stovepipe after 600 rounds or so. Have shot multiple competitions with it and have scored in the top 25% every time and am beyond happy. I added a pic rail and a vortex crossfire 1-4x24 with illuminated reticle. She’s a perfect little around the farm gun with 124gr Hornady XTPS and 15 round Barretta mags

Gun has a 200rd break in period. Id personally shoot 100 clean it and shoot another 100 and it will be fine.

I've got several WWII surplus m1 carbines, they are just about my favorite rifle. I'm excited about trying this 9mm version, as .30 carbine ammo has gotten pricey, and I don't shoot have anywhere more than 100 yards I can shoot, so the bullet drop is not too much of an issue.

Question, do beretta magazines fit in the m1 carbine mag pouch? I picked up one of these rifles the other day for $350 second hand and absolutely am in love. Originally got it for my dad cause he loves the old esthetics but neither one of us want to spend what 30 cal goes for now. I don’t love the plastic barrel band so I picked up a repro metal one along with new rear sight since it was missing and I hear chiappas rear sight from factory can be very loose.

I didn't realize they made a 9mm m1 that's cool. I'll need to see if they have one that takes glock mags

^he's right, they only make the M9 version sadly. If you want a fun gun that can take Glock mags, try the Ruger PC carbine or charger.

Everyone enjoys different guns. It's a viable option if you don't want to shell out the money for an antique gun with limited ammo selection.

Everyone who has had one of these has had nothing but trouble. I was looking at one when taofledurmaus did a video on his. Saved me a pretty good chunk of money. It would be awesome to have an M1 carbine in 9mm. Hopefully they have improved them over the last 5+ years. Please keep us updated on how it goes. I would love to see if this ends up holding up over time.

Mine has been nothing but great. Functioned perfectly right out of the box. Put maybe 100 rounds through it with zero jams or misfires. Maybe don't say "Everyone" when you have no idea what you're talking about?

Mine has been nothing but fun. I have made many coons an coyotes lose their soul because of mine. Plus, it has never failed me in competitions. Then even adding a new folding stock wasn't that bad.

I think I will purchase one sooner or later... I've been looking at this model since 2015 or so, when it was released, and in the dozens of videos I watched, the main reason of malfunction seems to be related to magazines, perhaps with the good original Beretta magazines I have I will non have any trouble

With 124 or higher grain ammo and factory or Barrera magazines and not cheap shitty promags, it works fantastic. They also did improve the quality of it on recent units, as things like the sights are no longer plastic. My only issue with it is that its a bitch to clean.
