'77 was the height of my college band geek days. Chicago tunes were everything to us back then and certainly stand the test of time.

You should take a listen to the Russian group Leonid and Friends. A great Chicago imitation group that actually sound better in certain ways

The first 3 minutes and 29 seconds of this was pure torture! Thankfully, Chicago Kid 1969 explained that back then, band members tuned up while on stage...

I’ve always found it so cool how lighting and camera angles can make a small stage look huge. With the lights on it looks like a high school stage with the lights off it looks huge. ACL is kind of like that too. The stage is much smaller in person than it appears on tv.

Why is it that one of Lamm's greatest songs was one of his earliest?
@waltersimmons946Ай бұрын
Because Lamm wrote most of the early music. By 1976 his songwriting wasn't catching on anymore. Pankow and Cetera's songs carried the band up to and after Kaths death. After 'Hot Streets ' (1978) the band hit a wall for a while. By the 80s it was predominantly Cetera till he left in July 1985. Lamm, Pankow and Cetera were inducted in the SONGWRITERS HALL OF FAME .

You don't get it. This song is so much greater because it made you wait for them to cut loose. Anticipation is a good thing here.
