I'm glad they are getting pushback. We aren't trying to help subsidize billionaire's stadiums. The NFL is a money machine with no signs of slowing down. They can pay for it themselves.

It brings in 100s of millions of dollars to Chicago. Why do you think they were trying so hard to keep it in Chicago? Also those stadiums cost billions of dollars. The owners of the Bears don't have billions of dollars on hand to pay for the stadium. It's standard practice for the city that wants the stadium and team to play in their City to help pay for the stadium because it's like a sort of investment because it's going to bring in a truckload of cash and tourism. That's not just the Bears. It's all NFL teams soldier Field alone has been an investment that is paid for itself a hundred times over and brought tons of money to the city of Chicago. Also, the NFL doesn't help pay for stadiums the owners do and the McCaskeys. The people who own the Bears are one of the poorest owners in the NFL. Also, the family has owned the Bears since basically the beginning all around Chicago is going to benefit from having the stadium. I'd rather have my tax dollars go to the stadium, then someone's welfare or laundered in a politician's pocket.

@@Williplier this is not the taxpayers problem. If the McCaskey's need to raise capital, they can do so by using team's equity as collateral. The money they bring in does NOT directly benefit taxpayers like investment into infrastructure and schools. This has been proven time and time again. Also the Rams privately financed SoFi, so the bears can try to figure it out themselves. The NFL is a money machine. They will make the money back to repay private investors.
