Just yesterday lost my German Shepherd Camilla after nearly 10 years together. Had to go for a drive to clear my head after she passed and didn’t this song by Chicago immediately start playing in the car. Happens so she was a rescue from a Chicago animal shelter years and years ago. Immensely powerful moment.

You know I can’t believe someone that has been a part of my life for 44 years, he said many times since we reunited 2 years ago he loved me! We both fell in love with each other! He kept bringing up woman from his past! I couldn’t take anymore! 1 week ago my doctor said I might have leukemia and he isn’t there for me! I am crushed! I don’t understand how someone can love you and then turn your back on someone they say they loved ! My heart is hurting! I thought he was the love of my life!

Many years ago as I was sitting in my car getting ready to read a letter from my long distance boyfriend, this song came on the radio. To my horror, the letter was a break up letter!! I was so devastated!!! And that song told exactly how I felt. Except we never fought. I didn’t understand why he was leaving me. BUT! It didn’t take him long to realize he made a huge mistake! Happy to say, we’ve been married almost 47 years. But still love the song. Thanks!

It still makes me cry when I hear it. I am 68 years old now; all is forgiven and we are friends. Last year she said sorry for all of the hurt that happened. Funny old thing……life….eh?

This lovely Chicago song came on the car radio this morning just as I drove out the driveway to go to the memorial for my wife of 55 years. We met in Chicago (Evanston, actually) in the late 60’s when Chicago was at the height of its popularity. How did Sirius-XM know I needed this? I had to pull off the road and cry a while before continuing on my way.

I dated a girl who was perfect in my eyes. She was the light of my life and just made it worth living. We were compatible in every single aspect, and after a while I thought she was the one I’d put a ring on. The only problem was that our parents didn’t approve of us seeing each other. We both knew that we could never hurt our families so we thought the best thing to do would be to split. I still remember the last day I saw her, while dropping her back home I played this song in my car. I held her tight as I felt life pull her away from me. I come back to this song to imagine what life would’ve been with her. Alas, I can only dream.

You’re very correct Karenhill9255 it seems unfortunate that sometimes I’ve heard that some parents had to kind of test the female or male of their sons or daughters who they were going to marry and that they wouldn’t approve and that shouldn’t have had to stop someone who wanted to pursue their dreams and live with the person who they truly love. It seems that some parents back then were more strict on who their daughter or son interacted or fell in love with.
