Martin, thank you for taking the time to post these videos. I'm the relatively new owner of a '73 A36. It's my first Bonanza and I love it. I enjoy flying along in yours when I can't fly mine.

Thank you for all the work you put into these videos. They are great teaching tools and the blend of charts, flight paths, taxing instructions, etc are simply awesome. Safe journeys.

Another great video Martin! Would you suggest Midway for someone who isn't IFR rated?
@martinpauly6 жыл бұрын
Hi Grant, yes, I would not hesitate to fly VFR into Midway. Despite how busy they get, I've found them to be pretty VFR friendly. Pick a day with really good visibility and make sure you know the runway layout well, and you should be OK.

5:06 Just Wow! ATC in a fight with each other? LOL......This was a useful video for flying VFR in Chicago. I had a quick question regarding the run-up. I didn't see you doing it. Where do GA aircraft usually run-ups at bigger airports like Midway? I'm assuming you just did it at the Atlantic ramp.

I didn't even notice that until you pointed it out! :-) - Martin

Sorry, I didn't answer your question about the run-up. At larger airports, the expectation is you are ready for take-off when you get to the runway. This leaves two options for the run-up: The FBO ramp, or a "rolling run-up" while taxiing. Since Midway is fairly small, I prefer to do the run-up before calling for taxi there. Regards, Martin

Thanks for another great video martin, i hope you had the chance to walk by magnificent mile. How many hours have you logged so far?
@martinpauly8 жыл бұрын
+Evilec Paz Hi Evilec, yes, I've been to Chicago many times, and Michigan Ave is of course a highlight. I have a bit over 1,400 hours of flight time logged.

Nice video, what a view! Interesting "headset" you are using there, could you tell me more about it please? Kris
@martinpauly10 жыл бұрын
Hi Kris, The headset is called "Halo"; it's made by an American company called "Quiet Technologies". It uses foam plugs that go in the ears. As a result, it is much, much lighter weight and smaller than a conventional headset. Works really well, and it gives me more headroom in the cockpit.

***** Thanks a lot, I'll surely look into it Kris

When you were vfr did you request flight follow? Or did radar give you traffic out of the goodness of their hearts?
@martinpauly Жыл бұрын
Yes, I had VFR flight following on this flight. - Martin
