Omg. April's character this episode.... my goodness. I don't even have the words. It was heartbreaking 😷. But Yaya played the role very well. Deep down I always knew she would lose the baby, but I didn't think the episode would be so emotional 😭. I can only imagine what will happen in the next episode when they remove the baby 😥

Patita Valenzuela sorry you experienced that , and true . I know I may sound dramatic , t it takes almost little to nothing for me to lose it and get depressed . I've spent a majority of my life depressed thanks to ongoing cycle of bipolar 🤷🏽‍♀️ every time I lose someone , which has happened often the past few years , I jump back into life "fine " and then I slowly self destruct and fall apart . When I lost my grandad I almost starved to death from not being able to it and got so stressed I started having pseudo seizures that often left me partially paralyzed and jerky all the time . Lost my job and everything . I'm sure if I ever lost a child it would be worse , but who knows

IT's because they need the characters for the show. It's like Dr Manning took one month maternity leave. Unrealistic but they need her on the show. In reality she would have to book the surgery (and it can sometimes take a while to get in) then fast and disinfect and then after surgery have recovery with antibiotics. 1 in 4 pregnancies results in miscarriage so it is perfectly normal.

Everyone deals with grief differently. You may need time off and cry but like so many other women such as myself, when I had my miscarriage in 2014 after ultrasound had no heartbeat, I too dealt with it all while still going to work, being a mom to my toddler son and just not wanting my husband to see how badly it affected me, although he knew. So yes, sometimes we bury ourselves into things to help foster the pain. It took me till after the birth of my daughter a year later, to be able to speak on it.

Partly because it's a show and they're not always accurate with real life. Partly because people deal with grief differently. For me, I tend to push through it just like with all my depressed episodes. I'll feel empty sometimes, but I'm used to that feeling. I'm sorry that you deal with bipolar like that. I have my own mental health issues, so I know what it's like to feel that way. Trapped in a fog of depression where you don't anything for days. After my grandma died and some other stuff happened (serious abuse/bullying and other health issues), my anxiety issues and depression got worse to the point where I tried to take my life. I wish you well.
@ABirdOnTheMoon

It takes time. It is different grieving mechanisms. Some people try avoiding it so they go back into work and try to not think of it .. keep busy but that doesn't work : it will bite them later especially when going back home or at moments of stillness. Children come to hospitals and your mind start wondering too. Some will take a leave for days - weeks or even months. My coworker took more than a month. Her pregnancies are difficult and she lost few before, this time she was ordered a bed stay and she carried her baby to 5 months. It is so hard when they grow bigger, you can feel it moving or feel a kick. It is also hard because some would not be able to work with babies again and request a transfer or a change of department. I know one nurse who asked to work in the male ward because she lost both of her children tragically and she doesn't want to interact or see mothers/babies. We all have our wounds

Worst pain honestly, I had my miscarriage at 12 weeks barely knew my child was growing in me, I got a Transvaginal ultrasound (at 6 or 7 weeks) but me and my obgyn didn’t hear a heart beat she said that since the baby was so small that the machine wasn’t picking up the sound. And at 12 weeks I had very bad cramping and bleeding ( like a big gush came out) I was able to get checked again that day just to be told I miscarried

I’m sorry that happened to you. It’s sad because we also can’t tell when it actually happens. The pain and bleeding doesn’t come until weeks have passed. This happened with me back in 2018. I didn’t expect a thing. Just woke up one morning and a crazy amount of blood was rushing down my legs. I would have been about 10- 12 weeks pregnant if that hadn’t happened.

Yara Aljamoaa From WebMD... Dilation and curettage (D&C) is an out-patient surgical procedure in which the cervix is widened, and a special instrument is used to scrape the uterine lining and remove uterine contents. Contents that are unable to be removed in this manner will need to be suctioned out. Side effects include cramping and spotting.
