Being a doctor, especially one on duty, is a a very SERIOUS business. He probably thought school was the hard part but it's just the beginning. This is a life time dedication, not a side hussle that can be half assed n get away with slip ups. A mistake like that doesn't just cost you your job but a patient's life.
