Cities that have been consistently dangerous nonstop for the last 50 years Chicago is one of them along with Detroit, Baltimore, St Louis, Philly, Oakland and Cleveland... NYC, Houston, Miami and Los Angeles use to be part of that list but they've seemed to been replaced in the last 20 years by Warleans, Memphis, Little Rock, Kansas City, Birmingham and Fort Worth/Dallas.

Chicago really isn’t a dangerous city majority of the violence in Chicago comes from 12 neighborhoods. This video was actually recorded in one of those neighborhoods. Those neighborhoods are worse than almost all cities and neighborhoods in the country but Chicago as a whole is still not really that bad of a city as long as u avoid the heavily troubled neighborhoods.

And the violence is more spreadout these days than it used to be as opposed to the 90s when the majority of the violence was more heavily concentrated in the projects. Expressway shootings have greatly increased over the years. And in 2021 there were over 800 homicides and over 4,500 shooting victims. I know what you're trying to say though, I understand that Chicago does have plenty of safe neighborhoods (mostly on the north side) but those numbers are still too large to ignore and look the other way and say "well the whole city isn't like that so its not really dangerous". Violence in this city is still a huge problem.

I work there sometimes. Varies house by house. Sometimes I’ll be within 2 blocks of o block and sometimes 2 cities over. The people are the same there that I work for; just trying to get by. I’ve met some happy people that live in a damn war zone that are just so desensitized to the violence. Had some lady tell me “yea they shoot over there but as long as we’re inside they don’t bother us!”
