Al's a total badass. Nerves of steel and ice in his veins. Hank new he'd take that shot without a second thought. I also love the chemistry between Halstead and Al since they're both Combat Veterans. Al was 173rd Airborne and Halsted was obviously an Airborne Ranger.

They were trying to pin it on Olinksy, while awaiting trial in jail, he was stabbed and eventually died. Personally I think it was a stupid move to kill him off. He brought a lot to the show.
