Give “Introduction” by Chicago a listen. Their lead singer and guitarist at the time was Terry Kath. Listen to his voice, he was called the White Ray Charles and he was so good on the guitar that Jimi Hendrix told the members of the band that he felt that Terry Kath was a BETTER guitar player than he was! Terry Kath unfortunately accidentally shot himself in the mid to late 70’s and the band lost that sound and never regained it.

Ron Hillier yeah. Very very very sad. What could have been with him still being around. Kath and a member of their road crew were doing drugs at the road crew member’s home and he was cleaning his guns playing around with them. The roadie asked him to be careful several times while he was cleaning his .38 revolver and he put it to his head and pulled the trigger to show that it was empty. However he did the same thing with his semi automatic pistol and removed the clip. However he did not realize that there was one in the chamber and he pulled the trigger and was killed instantly.

Thumbs way up for all music Chicago - the music from my youth. Another classic defined by the word "timeless". Love.

You're about to go down the great "Chicago" rabbit hole. Many, many incredible songs to hear and react to. Enjoy :)

If you really want to go down the Chicago rabbit hole, two of their best are Dialogue pts. 1 and 2, and State of the Union. Both are social commentaries that would still be as pertinent today as they were in 1972. Dialogue was a medium size hit but for some reason doesn't still get played now. State of the Union was more of a deep cut.

Thanks for reacting to this song. This song always brings me back to my youth when my best friend, Mark Walls (RIP), and I were swinging on his swing set waiting for the school bus. We must have been in 3rd grade or so at that time. We would sing the basic chorus of this song while swinging on the swing set. I appreciated the band Chicago more and more as I grew older. Thanks for this!
