It's so very important to be professional. As an independent filmmaker I've seen people show up to auditions in shorts and sandals as if it's a weekend hobby for them. That won't win you anything. It's also not about you, but what you can deliver for the casting director. A lot of them don't have the luxury of time to ease you into the audition like I've done in the past. They've got a thousand things to get done, and producers to answer to. So, you've got to walk in, be prepared, make a genuine and professional impression, and deliver the best of what you've got. The art is personal, but the job is business. Always remember that.

Thanks I needed this today. I was in LA for six years and had many more auditions for TV there. Chicago is a different animal...I'm learning.

Hi Leslie. Hope you don’t mind if I ask ya something? I’m in LA now from Oregon. I’ve done lots of local theatre plays, and finally trying to take the long dreamt plunge into Tv/Film. How would you recommend I start? Only here for a few weeks currently as it’s mainly to get a taste, but planning on coming back soon.

@@Rubiksguy try to find some workshops out there in Backstage with casting directors if possible. Watch out for things that seem to good to be true - scams. Go out and meet as many people as you can. See some plays out there too...they exist. :)

Nice tips! Im new to LA, from Bend OR. Have done lots of local theatre productions, and trying to start in TV/Film. Would you recommend looking up Agencies in LA and sending my headshot and resume in? I know there’s a lot of etiquette here, so I’m balancing not stepping on toes with also reaching out for what I want. Thanks!

How do you get an audition for Chicago tv or any other tv shows if you don't have an agent?

Chris Agos do the actors get paid like 30k an episode?
@ChrisAgosActor4 жыл бұрын
@@mightywolf6729 I'm not aware of the salaries of anyone other than me, and no, I never made even close to that amount per episode.
