I remember as a Knicks fan, once I saw him play, we were doomed. Jordan and Pippen were enough. Adding Rodman was a bigger problem for other teams,Knicks were used to Rodman. But this guy was just something nobody was ready for. He killed us a few times. The other guy who gets no love is Longley, he was just another center, but dude was always coming up with clutch plays, rebounds,passes, taking fouls, flops, just played his talents to the max and found ways to do damage. Jordan was the goat,but he had more help than people realize, if you saw the games, you know.

I have mad mad respect to Kukoc, one of my favourite players ever. Without him. The Bulls dynasty would not be completed.

Man in those days ex Yu Basketball was just rule Europe. I remember playing with guys that play in a regular national league and after training with their club they just go and play street ball. Everyone was just addicted. Hoop day and night...Those ware the days...

Christmas 1985. Real Madrid basketball holds his traditional Christmas tournament. I was there. One of the teams invited that year was the Yugoslavian National Team, coached by late legend Krešimir Ćosić. Thre were a few guys nobody had heard of on that team, or at least they were not known internationally. A 19 year old Žarko Paspalj, and 17 year olds, Vlade Divac and Toni Kukoc. Drazen Petrovic was also there, as well as Stojan Vrankovic. In fact, both of them showed up late, and the game had already started. Drazen was already a superstar in Europe, but we did not know we were witnessing the birth of some other legends.

I always loved Toni Kukoc because he came onto the floor and did his thing. He scored, defended, and assisted, whenever he needed to. I was glad to stumble across this Toni Kukoc tribute and I think he’s a great ex NBA Basketball player that deserves more mentions.

Toni Kukoc is a class. I’m a Bulls fan getting it from my late mom and dad. Toni is so humble basketball player and you could tell that up to this day, he’s still a very nice ex-basketball player. I really admire him a lot.

Pink Panter, Kuki (pronounced as in cookie) - how many of you Americans know these were the nicknames Kukoc got while playing in Europe. Being part of the same generation (he's 5 months older than myself) it was real pleasure watching him gorw since his first steps in Yugoplastika until his glory days with Chicago Bulls. Hvala na svemu Kuki!

Scottie Pippen take notes. Toni just gave you a masterclass in how to show humility. Toni doesn't get nearly enough credit for those last three rings, yet he handles it all with grace and class.

You could put Toni Kukoc in ANY ERA that he would still be a good solid player, a lot of people forgot how clutch he was when he was with the Bulls....
@zeljkoacimovic3 жыл бұрын
I know a lot of people would not like this, but for me, as an ex SFRJ guy and from Serbia, this is the best player from Europe that i saw play. For me, Toni > Drazen in so many ways... Najbolji Evropski igrac koga sam ikada gledao...
@JeremyB10393 жыл бұрын
You gotta see Luka play then
@xxxxxJAYMILLZxxxxxxx3 жыл бұрын
@@JeremyB1039 ya I see him play daily, but The year Drazen passed away he was on his way to being a bonified all star and potentially in the MVP conversation. I mean 22PPG with a career 3PT% of 46% with only 3 attempts per game man if he was shooting a couple more or even playing in today’s game he would be better then Luka lol. Biggest what if in NBA history. He could of been S.Curry before Curry came to be, just a tragedy. Toni on the other hand.. his international career alone and the accomplishments he achieved are HOF worthy even without his NBA career.. has one of the best basketball resumes in history .. that’s not even boosting to the slightest. If it wasn’t for these dudes there would be no Dirk no Jokic no Parker no Luka.. international players would of never broke out of the scene if it wasn’t essentially for Yugoslavia’s immense success in basketball man. To go as far as creating the 92 dream team just to stop the Yugoslavs says it all man these guys were all way ahead of there time and would of dominated today’s soft game

He has a lot in common with MJ. Both of them were at the top of their game but experienced humility in a similar way. American basketball for Toni and Baseball for Michael. Being the best is fleeting and very difficult.
