The fact the Beau's mom is apologizing to Carter's mom when her son is the one who's dead because she thinks her son is the reason Carter is in the hospital is sad and heartbreaking; when it should be Carter's mom apologizing to Beau's mother because she knows the facts about what happened and says nothing
@SnowPink90
@SnowPink90 6 ай бұрын
She wouldn’t say anything because then she would have to admit her son is not perfect. Wealthy parents always think their kids are angels but more than likely they’re not as this show proved. And for them to pull their funding from the hospital just shows you what kind of people they are. If they can’t take that, their son was high on drugs and was doing something stupid and got burned in the process, his friend getting burnt and ending up dying that’s a mark against the family name and it’ll be all in the newspapers, something wealthy parents don’t want. 8:57

Yeah, but that like ethnic parenting 101. I am from Eastern Europe and every time there was a situation where I could get hurt my first thought was always "If I fp my Mom will kill me" And I have to say it is quite efficient😂 On the other hand I have gotten into the ER a few times and it wasn't my fault at all and all I was worrying about was my parents😂

I've never been very good with kids but I can't stand to see any kid sad or hurt. I appear to be quite maternal and protective towards children, especially children I'm related to, which is sad because I can't have kids of my own. Ever. But even i can tell that ur children are lucky to have you.

I had 2 degree and 3rd degree burn over all the front of me when I was 8 I refused to go to hospital until the next day, it stung more so than anything, I then got a allergic reaction on top of my burns as a trainee nurse gave me the wrong bandaids for my burns and I think that’s what hurt the most. My dad had major 3rd degree burn from his should to his knee and spent about 3 week i think in a tube thing to stop infection. He said the worst of the pain were his skin grafts. He was on strong pain killers, I had nothing.

And the fact here is that Carter KNOWS what he has done so even if Goodwin didn't talk to him there are two out comes. He decides to com clean on his own terms. You know this series had always made 'the board' sound really scary and threatening. But Goodwin has pulled moral high ground on them repeatedly, always got vaguely threatened, but she is still at med and in charge. So really I don't think 'the board' are really all that bad.
@squish4369
@squish4369 3 жыл бұрын
Tbh thats actually pretty accurate. Boards are designed to make sure the hospital can operate and treat patients while maintaining the fiscality they need. Doctors and Nurses often clash with the board on issues around patient care and if the doctor or nurse does genuinely have a good reason for what they want then a board will never go against that. Mostly because they're low tier politicians that found a way to remain relevant and if they mess up they'll end up in a whirlwind of bad press.

"What is with you?" IDK, your son has literally one of the top 10 the most painful injuries known to man? Not-so-fun-fact is that 2nd degree burns are more painful than 3rd degree ones, this is because 3rd degree burns essentially sever the nerve connection whereas 2nd degree leaves the nerves exposed and frayed, making it extremely painful to not just move, but even a shift in air (wind) can cause horrible pain.

You can't do much with asystole. Defibrillators only work on vfib and vtach, and maybe svt, although that is debatable. Chest compressions keep blood flowing but seldom restart the heart, and certainly not in asystole. When the heart stops, and electrical activity ceases, the person is dead. There is no bringing them back from that.

Carter's parents wanted to blame Bo for what happened and the board wanted this matter silenced because the Singletons are rich donars? Talk about despicable people, and the way Lydia lied to that other mom was even more disgusting. Goodwin was right to do what she did by convincing Carter to talk to the police and tell the truth.

This seems insane. You can’t tell me that Goodwin would be told as much about the case as she was due to the fact that carter is her Godson. It’s a conflict of interest. She wouldn’t be involved unless she was really required. And the guy advising her not to say anything is right. The police would have found out anyway whether carter told them or not. While it probably is in his best interest to speak to the police and Goodwin is his godmother, she is too personally involved.

This is an interesting grey area which is why I think it is such a great plot point. Hospitals thrive with the contributions from their donors so for them to lose one (and for Sharon to lose the relationship with her godson's parents) could be taken as funding that could have gone to save someone else's life. Now obviously it isn't as black and white as that but I like that since the tragic event was an accident (if it was on purpose it would have been deemed too easy of a decision) and now it is up to the "perpetrator" to fess up and come clean for their own sanity. I haven't watched the episode but so far we don't know if because of this Carter is criminaly charged and his parents retract future donations.

Why the heck did she put herself in this mess? The results would have been the same if she had kept her mouth shut. The police would have investigated. The evidence was there. It just seems like she wanted to be righteous and have him report the truth because she believed he should. I mean, he should have, but the fact is, as the director of a hospital, thousands of lives are dependant on funding and despite knowing that what she was doing would put that in jeopardy, she still put herself in the situation.

She is the boy's godmother. She was protecting him by encouraging him to be honest as that is what is best for the boy she has an obligation to protect. Him confessing will make the prosecutors be much more lenient with him than if he was arrested and prosecuted based on evidence that was found. His confession combined with the fact he was performing CPR when the CFD arrived is evidence to show that he feels remorse and that it was truly an accident.

To be honest, I can understand Carter's parents situation. If I were them, I would also try to keep my son out of jail, whether he is at fault or not.

Just imagining getting CPR with those kinds of burns is nauseating if he wasn't already unconscious the pain from that would certainly knock him out.

These parents pissed me off Ok it's so easy to say "oh I would never be that way with my kid" but there are times when the emotions of anger and blame takes over but most parents will calm down These 2? Please! They are more interested in image than their son

Sorry but shouldn't Will have been focusing on his own patient when the other kid was crashing? he was just stood there watching rather than getting on with his job and treating his patient. working in ER don't you learn to block out that sort of thing?, not relevant to you or the patient you are currently working on's care
