The fact the Beau's mom is apologizing to Carter's mom when her son is the one who's dead because she thinks her son is the reason Carter is in the hospital is sad and heartbreaking; when it should be Carter's mom apologizing to Beau's mother because she knows the facts about what happened and says nothing
@SnowPink906 ай бұрын
She wouldn’t say anything because then she would have to admit her son is not perfect. Wealthy parents always think their kids are angels but more than likely they’re not as this show proved. And for them to pull their funding from the hospital just shows you what kind of people they are. If they can’t take that, their son was high on drugs and was doing something stupid and got burned in the process, his friend getting burnt and ending up dying that’s a mark against the family name and it’ll be all in the newspapers, something wealthy parents don’t want. 8:57
Parents didnt even show compassion. As a mom, when I see my son hurt and in pain, doesnt matter whos fault or whatever. What matters at the moment is to show love and care. No wonder Carter cant be honest - with parents like that smh

@squish43693 жыл бұрын
Tbh thats actually pretty accurate. Boards are designed to make sure the hospital can operate and treat patients while maintaining the fiscality they need. Doctors and Nurses often clash with the board on issues around patient care and if the doctor or nurse does genuinely have a good reason for what they want then a board will never go against that. Mostly because they're low tier politicians that found a way to remain relevant and if they mess up they'll end up in a whirlwind of bad press.

"What is with you?" IDK, your son has literally one of the top 10 the most painful injuries known to man? Not-so-fun-fact is that 2nd degree burns are more painful than 3rd degree ones, this is because 3rd degree burns essentially sever the nerve connection whereas 2nd degree leaves the nerves exposed and frayed, making it extremely painful to not just move, but even a shift in air (wind) can cause horrible pain.

You can't do much with asystole. Defibrillators only work on vfib and vtach, and maybe svt, although that is debatable. Chest compressions keep blood flowing but seldom restart the heart, and certainly not in asystole. When the heart stops, and electrical activity ceases, the person is dead. There is no bringing them back from that.

This is an interesting grey area which is why I think it is such a great plot point. Hospitals thrive with the contributions from their donors so for them to lose one (and for Sharon to lose the relationship with her godson's parents) could be taken as funding that could have gone to save someone else's life. Now obviously it isn't as black and white as that but I like that since the tragic event was an accident (if it was on purpose it would have been deemed too easy of a decision) and now it is up to the "perpetrator" to fess up and come clean for their own sanity. I haven't watched the episode but so far we don't know if because of this Carter is criminaly charged and his parents retract future donations.

It just seems like she wanted to be righteous and have him report the truth because she believed he should. I mean, he should have, but the fact is, as the director of a hospital, thousands of lives are dependant on funding and despite knowing that what she was doing would put that in jeopardy, she still put herself in the situation.

She is the boy's godmother. She was protecting him by encouraging him to be honest as that is what is best for the boy she has an obligation to protect.
