Sweden doesn't even have an official national anthem, that's how far we are from this behaviour of "unless you pledge allegiance to our flag and our constitution you are committing the crime of hate speech". Like over here you actually have to verbally attack a group of people on the basis of ethnicity, religion, gender, sexuality or age for it to be hate speech. Forcing people, especially children, to "pledge allegience" to anything is straight up cult behaviour. Punishing those who refuse is cult behaviour. Shaming and guilt tripping them into thinking that not doing = some inherent lack of morals or gratitude for what one has in life is cult behaviour.

A printing company once misunderstood an order for Amurikhee flags, and over-produced them by three orders of magnitude. Unable to sell them, give them away, or repurpose them, they offered a large sum of ready cash to anyone who would take them away, no questions asked. A breakfast cereal conglomerate took the junk flags and the cash, then conceived a plan. If every child in the entire school eats nothing but this company's cereal for all three meals a day for an entire year _(which they knew full well would cause malnutrition, starvation, growth defects etc)_ they'd get a free Star Spangled beach towel and a piece of paper telling them how to worship it. And forevermore the rest of the world was convinced that Americky is just like North Korea, only with more fat people.
