Saltwater consistently comes up anytime someone does a Top # whatever trance tunes compilation. Offshore and Autumn Tactics are pretty well remembered too. He's right where he deserves to be. He had his hits, though he didn't even produce that many compared to other trance artists.

I'm a dj since 1990 and I had envolved with the 90's commercial electronic music. Suddenly at the first years of the millenium I heard for the first time Chicane's - Saltwater and then Offshore tracks. They just stucked in my mind and that was it. We would go out to the club at 11pm on a saturday night and get back home at around 9am on Sunday (still flying!) shower and put our sunglasses on and lie outside under the sun and play Chicane, Markus Schulz, Lobsinger and other chill tunes. Best years of my life.

It all died partly due to cell phones and social media because it was a very unifying environment where all the misfits and outliers in society could feel at home on the dancefloor and behave, indulge and dress however they wanted without fear or judgement unlike today where you can end up on the internet. It was a great era.

Best of the best. Seen them live in 1999, 2000 & 2001. These guys REALLY get it!!!! They are the best melodic trance group to witness outdoors when the sun is blasting. I felt so ethereal when i first seen these guys live. I honestly felt on cloud 9. So loved up it was sonething very very special that i will never forget. They pull at your heart strings with the deep trance undertones, absolutely beautiful. Oh what it is to be young & carefree with no cares in the world.
