Hi! I love you guys video! When you guys went to the cenote and had to get life jackets/locker, were you able to pay with your debit/credit card? Did you have to change currency?
@LensofSaika_Canada5 ай бұрын
Hey!! Life jackets were included in the admission and for the locker we paid $3usd in cash. Not sure if they take credit card because mostly everyone paid by cash. They will accept mxn pesos as well. :D

You can stay at a hotel offsite that is great - so you can visit the site at night when it's all lit up. Very few people, a different experience. I've been there dozens of times and found something new each time. The last time we got there and it was 115º and then a storm hit - I've never seen so much rain. It never stopped (hours). So I felt blessed - all those sacrifices coming due. Nice video - I hope you go back again.

That sounds so great! We’ll definitely try to do a night visit if we can. Thank you 😊

@@LensofSaika_Canada I ws able to walk around for hours - but I think the show is @ 9 or so in the evening for about 30m or so. When I was there they lit up all the main buildings and we walked around for a long time. And the hotel(s) were walking distance to the south - they had a spa, and a few lodging options with pools. Down near the restaurant, etc. Who can say they actually stayed overnight there? Good luck!

Went there 20 years ago neat place. I was able to go up the big parymid at that time. Very steep steps. There was a rope to hold on when you walked down..

Which month you visited?

We went in February - the weather was very good. It got a bit chilly near the resort at night but in the day it was very pleasant.

How safe is the road trip from Cancun to Chichen Itza?
@LensofSaika_CanadaАй бұрын
It was very safe we didn’t have any issues. We went with a good tour company bus so not sure if it’s different if you drive there

I rented a car and drove there. If you rent a car, rent it from JM Cancun. It’s off of Bonfil north of the airport. I rent from them every time I go there and I go twice a year. It was $175 USD for 7 days and a $150 deposit. With full coverage insurance as well. Also, Easy way car rental is great too. Take the toll road. There is about $42 USD in tolls round trip. It’s worth it, though. The roads are a lot nicer and well kept. Also, if you have car troubles you can call the green angels for roadside assistance. It’s one of the perks of paying the toll. It’s a straight shot, all highway there. Stop by Valladolid on the way and stop at a cenote!! Go early, you don’t want to drive after dark. The roads are not well lit and animals cross the road often. There are topes especially coming into our out of the cities and towns. It’s hard to see them and see obstacles in the road if it is dark. As for police, I’ve never had issues. However, I’ve made sure I “drive like a Mexican” to sort of blend in. The perk of renting from a local rental agency is that you get cars that are not obviously rentals. Also, they don’t charge a high deposit or try to scam you.

Well described video. Can you share how much the tour costs and whether there were additional fees you had to pay for entry to the park?
@LensofSaika_Canada7 ай бұрын
Thank you so much! We bought Chichen Classic + Xcaret tour package and paid around CAD $380 per person. With this package, we got 15% off the original cost of both tours. There were no additional fees: transport, entry, water and lunch were included. Hope that helps! :)
@navya1433Ай бұрын
$380 all activities you did at Xcaret also included??

Hi, is the Chichen itza tax fee included in the admission price or did you have to pay extra once you got to the site?
@LensofSaika_Canada7 ай бұрын
Hi! Yes everything was included in the admission price. We didn't pay anything extra (except from the shopping we did) :)

Which tour company did you use?
@LensofSaika_Canada7 ай бұрын
The company was ‘Sol-Ha’. It was located in our resort itself so we went there and booked it.

@@LensofSaika_Canada Hi, so you recommend booking while there instead of expedia? Thanks
@LensofSaika_Canada12 күн бұрын
@@karinabarajas2235 We recommend checking prices at the company in the resort + at Expedia or Xcaret's website and book whichever one is cheaper. We were able to get a package of 2 tours for 15% off so it worked for us. :)

What time did you get back to the hotel

Can’t remember exactly but I think around 8-9pm. It was a 2.5 hours bus ride back. :)
