I'm so happy that he got to meet Chick. It's obvious how much of an influence he was on Cory's playing. I wish my father were alive to see this.

When Corey comes in at 2:50 I get chills. The most beautiful and haunting chords I’ve ever heard, and I can’t believe it’s improvised

Well, you need to listen to a lot of Chick Corea. Experiment listening to "Chick Corea and Steve Kujala album" or "Piano improvisations vol 1", or Chick Corea and Herbie Hancock albums. These are excellent, but all chick's albuns are real treasures. 🎉❤

Saw Chick with 'Return To Forever'. Greatest concert of my life ! Easily. Chick, Al De Meola, Stanley Clark, and Lenny White. I still get exited talking about it 45 years later. The standing ovation didn't stop until they agreed to play an Oncor. Lenny White soloed on the drums for half an hour. Clark played every inch of the bass, and Chick was like a mad scientist. Greatness !

Creating music that stands the test of time is how Cory's name will REALLY go down in history. Amazing pianist nonetheless.

for agile fingers, i think he's basically as good, maybe a little bit more flexible, and has a bigger vocabulary in terms of gospel and neosoul. Chick has him for "modern classical" vocab, and that more pure prog sound.

Cory is just mimicking Chick Corea chords and progressions from other tunes. I can hear Chick playing through him. He heard Corea a lot and assimilated his language. That's great. That's the way. On the shoulders of a giant. 🎉❤❤❤
