This tune was released a couple months after I graduated from high school when I had absolutely no idea what I was going to do with my life. I started hearing it on the radio and was like “what was that?!?!” 37 years later and I’m still a professional drummer! Thanks Dave and Chick and the gang, you completely changed my life!

I bought the first Chick Corea Elektric Band release on cassette in the 10th grade, which would've been sometime in 1988. I kept seeing all of these ads in Modern Drummer with Dave Weckl in them. So I had to see what all the fuss was about. I've been a fan ever since. The original version of Rumble is just Corea, Pattitucci, and Weckl.

nah, he got more self-conscious and hung up on technique, Gruber spoiled his natural vibe, compare Colaiuta and Weckl now, the former still manages to let himself go, taps into something primal in his playing when improvising, in comparison Weckl is overly controlled, back in the 80s he played more freely, he let go....

Saying crap like "That's why people left the band", "C-3P0 having a stroke" (the 3P0 comment was funny, at least) but seriously how can you let that distract you or let it detract from the music? I would hardly have notice if there weren't so many whiners here. Embarrassed for them?
