I still remember opening the '76 Romantic Warrior LP and listening to it. Medieval Overture threw me against the wall....I said to myself: "Where did this come from?".

Chick, "Folhas secas" is about the composer saying that: When I walk on dry leaves Quando eu piso em folhas secas Dropped from a mango tree Caídas de uma mangueira I think of my samba school Penso na minha escola And in the poets of my first train station (Mangueira) E nos poetas da minha estação primeira I don't know how many times Não sei quantas vezes I went up the favela singing Subi o morro cantando Always the sun burning me Sempre o sol me queimando And so I finish myself E assim vou me acabando When the weather warns Quando o tempo avisar That I can't sing anymore Que eu não posso mais cantar I know I'll miss it Sei que vou sentir saudade Besides my guitar Ao lado do meu violão And from my youth E da minha mocidade When I walk on dry leaves Quando eu piso em folhas secas Dropped from a mango tree Caídas de uma mangueira I think of my samba school Penso na minha escola And in the poets of my first train station (Mangueira) E nos poetas da minha estação primeira I don't know how many times Não sei quantas vezes I went up the favela singing Subi o morro cantando Always the sun burning me Sempre o sol me queimando And so I finish myself E assim vou me acabando And so I finish myself E assim vou me acabando And so I finish myself E assim vou me acabando And so I finish myself E assim vou me acabando Songwriters: Nelson Cavaquinho / Guilherme De Brito

RTF was the most relevant fusion-jazz movement, sort of speak, thanks to the genius Armando Antonio. As Stanley once said, "Chick created the (RTF) sound!".
