Nice sir 👍, but you forgot to add the price of buying the chicks and the 20months includes the first 6 or 5 months where they don’t lay and are actually growing , so it’s actually 14 months of lay in their cycle . Cost of buying the crates to place the eggs ( disposable crates ) , vaccines, water , workers salaries should be included once you increase the number to 5000 birds. There are also fixed costs like land , cost of cage , which should be factored in for the first cycle. It’s profitable no doubt but not as you calculated it.

One of the best decisions ever. The number of years I spent looking for jobs and earning salary. If I had start a small farm, I would have been big by now. Its not easy but easy does it. Bank of industries gives single unit long term loans to farmers too. A painstaking process but worth it if successful.

I've been really looking at Ghana, Nigeria, and Rwanda as investment opportunities. This was a very interesting video and opened up my eyes to a lot. I wonder how much those initial 500 chickens cost to acquire? On another note, do you think $10,000 usd is enough to get started in any of these businesses you have proposed. Such as the provision store, farming, etc? Thanks for the great content!
@Top10Nigeria
@Top10Nigeria 4 жыл бұрын
African is a fertile ground for many businesses and $10,000 is a good start. The reason why I do business mathematics in my video is that maths don't lie (all thing being equal) Do your research and don't look back when you start. Have you watched the Snail farm business? Another good prospect. Consider setting up for post production too. Africa does a lot of manufacturing, export at minimal costs and buy back value added products at a very expensive cost. So if you can enhance the value of your production, you will even make more money. I'm yet to make a video on post production /value added produce. Research and consider that. All the best.

It is. If you do layers, you will definitely gain. There is a poultry farm near my residence. We call in the morning to book for eggs and pick up around 2pm. A crate (depending on the egg size) is N950 - N1200 and I always meet 2 or 3 sellers leaving with at least 5 crates. I always buy a crate. But I imagine the person makes at least 10k daily on just eggs. N200 - N300k monthly. Just eggs.

Very bogus and misleading calculations. Anyone who invests money based on your analysis will be disappointed. As an analyst it is better to talk to farmers who have been in the business for 5 to 10 years.
@Top10Nigeria
@Top10Nigeria 4 жыл бұрын
Thank you, Austeen for your contribution. We usually draw our projections and analysis from the info we got from our interviews so we can be as close to the facts on ground as possible. I hope you watched our interview of the farmer. Nonetheless, what maybe true for one farmer maybe different for another. You will be more productive if you could share your projections based on your years of experience than put down another farmers info. That way others can learn from you.

Yet you did not have any input to show how exactly his numbers were "bogus" and "misleading". Some people like you are just pessimistic and don't want anyone else to make progress because you're too afraid to do it yourself. If you can't do it don't put others off abeg.

Good piece of information. I think N2,000,000 is too low. For 500 birds, it will consume around 2.5 bags a day and on the average, a bag cost about N3,300. When you do the calculation for the duration, you will get more than N2,000,000 excluding other costs such as vaccination, etc.

Hi, I'm a farmer here in agric Ojo. This your information is very very wrong. You didn't calculate infrastructure. You don't get much gain in the first year calculating the cost of cages and if you do free range you'd pay workers higher cause it's more stressful to pick eggs and you'd loose eggs too due to breakage. You need to fumigate both free Range and cage. Cleaning of dump.
