Lessons learned: 1. Water access 2. Location & Site accessibility/transportation 3. Farm Manager 4. Land Clearing (manual vs mechanical) 5. Total Production cost/analysis 6. Self Sustainability (using low cost alternatives) 7. Timing/Scheduling of activities 8. Focus on the details around the final objectives (the End Game) 9. Pest Invasion (unforeseen) 10. Micromanaging the details (a Nigerian factor 😊)

You are the man! Number 1, 3 and 10 really rock my boat. I just completed a building project in Nigeria and my God did I relate to those 3 items the most. My wife documented all the challenges and she plans to share with anyone one else we know that would be doing building projects in Nigeria. Watching your video is like listening to all the challenges we encounter during our project. She narrates the same issues daily to me. By the way she was the one that managed the daily process of the project all the way from US. I gave up on the project after the 3rd month, but she saw it through and I am grateful for her tenacity and focus on the end goal.

Yeah that KYC is so important to better inform your end game. I would also say for people who find this project attractive. I think partnership is smarter (I.e farm associations) there are more than enough producers in Nigeria. Finally I think the other thing to note is don’t be afraid to TAKE YOUR TIME. There is so much to figure out because the system is complex. Great video Bayo.
