Pretty sure Nova started this first and Sly copied the idea. Remember sly wasn't on that session when nova started the hanging. He accidentally hung a pig and the idea popped unless you're telling me sly started this on the now canceled or break of MC Daily.

No, they were trying to ge some pigs in, and for some reason Sly decided to go up top and then the pigs teleported up there or something(?) and then fell down and died and Nova said he hanged the pigs. So I guess Nova was the first to mention animal hangings but Sly was the first to execute them (See what I did there?)

And iirc nova was the one who took had the pig with rope and it teleported and got hung off the communal tree. Pretty positive nova started it on all cylinders

James, you can keep the animals from despawning by naming them with the name tags you get in dungeons. Name the name tag in an anvil, then right click a mob with it. The mob will then be named like another player. This will keep them from despawning.

the falling damage is what killed the sheep, hanging itself doesn't hurt them. so Nova, if you make the hanging room's floor a few block lower, the sheep wont die and just hang there like the chickens.

Nova, make it deeper to hang sheep or any other animals. Sheep died because of fall damage. They were taking fall damage each time they hit the ground as they bounced. They are not going to die if you make it deeper and make them far enough from ground so they dont hit ground as they bounce.
