Just to confirm - Gigantoraptor cant hunt, at least in my tests. The animation from the species field guide is used but its used when chasing medium/large carnivores etc.

Now that we finally have this oversized death chicken in the game, the humans can now experience the same ptsd I get from this Dino from playing Carnivores Dinosaur Hunter. Those who have played that gem of a mobile game are legends and will understand my fear towards this beast. Oh wait I’ve just realised now that we have both Gigantoraptor & Utahraptor that means we have all the dinosaurs from carnivores dinosaur hunter.

I love how much it’s into tap dancing and it is really just giving Palaeognath vibes. Palaeognaths being the group of birds that ostriches, rheas, cassowaries and their relatives are in especially in the those rumbling calls.

I'm really bummed out that the Gigantoraptor doesn't hunt, as it was my number 1 for this pack. I was expecting it to predate on some of the much smaller dinosaurs like Homalocephalae and maybe various Ornithomimosauria at the biggest, but it's super dissapointing that it doesn't do anything. It's part of the Cretaceous Predator pack but isn't a predator at all.

I think this is a cool idea. Often in the wild the males are really colourful to attract a mate and females being a little less colourful. You could have 1 brown and another purple with colorful feathers to suggest they are a mating pair. That with some white rocks for an egg clutch then it could look realistic

What a wild and unique addition to the roster... It is very much like a large turkey or chicken, and some of the sounds it makes remind me a bit of peafowl. I really do love the noises it makes, and I feel like you hear them vocalizing a lot -- which makes sense to me. Plus it's fun to have something that's just so different from anything else in the game. Odd that it can't hunt anything, though.... I feel like it should at least be able to hunt the goat, and the tiny dinosaurs. (I'm imagining the way large birds hunt little lizards and things -- can't you see this thing stomping on some compys? I understand why it wouldn't kill anything bigger, but we have enough tiny critters in the game now that I feel like these guys could hunt down.) But the kills against the medium and large carnivores were pretty great. That's the sort of violence that really seems to suit these guys -- lots of violent kicking. Some of the colors are great -- some very bird-like color combinations, including the really bright, macaw-like colors.

It reminds me of a type of African bird called a turaco, and the green skin is very reminiscent of a turaco…but an oversized cassowary is probably the closest thing that reminds me of this…

Honestly, I am okay with it not hunting anything, because in real life it was probably far more herbivorous than carnivorous anyway. I like how they portrayed it as primarily a grazer that supplements its diet by scavenging meat. I love it, by why the heck is it in a predator pack!
