There's a Popeyes in Rivonia Boulevard, Sandton. All their branches in SA are closing or have closed down so you'd better try it out before they close down too. The chicken is great and crispy but their menu is limited in comparison to the States.

CHICKEN LICKEN all day hands down. Yes, they are sometimes over salted depending on the branch. However, their chicken is natural. Something about that KFC chicken isn't natural, also the sizes are huge. Chicken Licken also offers a spice packet, check the napkin. Mr Jones, the faces while you're eating though. Were you not taught that making faces while eating is rude? One would've thought you were eating rotting cow brains or something. 😂

South African living in the USA. In South Africa I prefer chicken licken but it can salty sometimes, KFC is too oily. In the US I don’t like both kfc and Popeyes, I stopped buying kfc in the states. Also in the US they don’t sell buns , they sell biscuits( kinda like scones). To answer Chrystal about the crunchiness, SA doesn’t have crunchy like Popeyes.

Zinger wings are absolute trash and taste as bad as Popeyes... Which didn't last in Sandton City btw... Sadly, Popeyes performed badly in SA... I wanted them to be good but alas. The only time zinger wings are best is when drenched in Kfc Dunked Sauce which is amazing. Kfc dunked wings are the best. I once bought that dunked sauce by the truckload😅 Nobody buys regular chicken licken pieces... You only buy the hot (spicy) ones cos they're like the hot wings...
