Chicken majboos recipe | delicious Arabian recipe

Whole garam masala :
Bay leaves : 2
cinnamon sticks : 2
Cardamom : 5
cloves : 5
Dried or fresh lemon : 1
Star anise : 1
For rice :
Basmati : 600grams/3 cups
large chicken pieces : 1 kg (whole chicken cut into 4 pieces)
Chopped medium onions : 3
medium tomatoes : 3 blend into fine paste
Ginger Garlic paste : 1 table spoon
Chilli powder : 1 tea spoon
Turmeric powder : 1/2 tea spoon
oil or ghee : 1/2cup
Salt to taste
Oil/ghee : 3 to 4 table spoons
For marinating chicken
Salt : 1 tsp
Lemon juice : 1 table spoon

I am Kuwaiti, this dish comes from my country. You can keep the chicken in the water after cooking it then add the rice on top of it if you want to keep it healthy and not fry it, or you can put it in the oven. In Kuwait we garnish it with sauted dried grapes (Raisins) and onion. this will give you the taste of heaven on earth.

Once my husband was at a lovely Arabic family's home and they refused to let us go hungry as he had to work very late there, and this was one of the dishes they sent home. It was samosas, yogurt and cucumber or raita I believe and this dish. I had mistaken it for biryani but was able to find out what it was today and it was one of the most delicious things I've ever tasted before!

Watched recipe to cook for my new husband. It says to add salt and then turmeric, but the salt added was red in color and did not look like salt and then afterward it added salt to the chicken but the salt there was regular white salt. Was that curry powder? 🙏

In Kuwait we put tomatoe sauce called Dakous. In a mixed add 1-2 tomatoes depending on the amount u want with garlic and ginger paste, olive oil salt and mix them all together after that put the mix in a pot and add 2 bell paper slices and 1 black dry lemon thjen stir a bit and then add water and stir more for 5-9 mins.

Nothing difference between kabsa and majboos.... kabsa is Saudi’s dish with more spices and majboos is kuwaiti dish with less spices
