Momo are originated in Tibet and they travelled to India via Nepal through Sikkim. They are extremely popular in Nepal and followed by the Seven Sisters; ie, The Northeastern States. It might be very popular towards Leh Laddakh too.

Momos are Nepalese Food inspired from Tibetian dumplings which were similar in shape/wrapping but totally different in taste and content inside the dumplings and many Nepalese who served in army or many of them who work in India brought into India and it has become famous in some of the indian states and north east india
