I can't believe this video hasn't gotten more views over the years! It was so much fun to watch, and I really enjoyed seeing your kids. It's always nice to watch the videos with your wife as well. It goes to show that it is, indeed, a family farm and the entire family does their part. So educational! Thank you. :-)

Can chickens lay off of forage and bugs? If you were to efficiently raise bugs, could that replace grain?

My "girls" laid 6 eggs per day year round for 5 years. I did Not feed my "girls" Soy or Corn. I did offer them wheat, oats, barley, kelp, meal worms, vitamin/mineral blend, finely crushed oyster shell. Also red worms. No GMO grains. I also did not use lighting to enhance egg production. Day length is not necessarily the stimulous. Feed quality is much more important. PS:Soy is the main cause of Ovaduct Prolapse.

We were very surprised to see how pale the yolks were in Canadian eggs. We were told it is because the chickens are fed wheat instead of corn. True? We had a few chickens and it is true, there is a pecking order. Sad to see for the bottom one!

Everybody knows why the chicken crossed the road. To get to the other side. But why did the chicken only go half way across the road? Because she wanted to lay it on the line.
@JAdams-jx5ek3 жыл бұрын
The chicken crossed the road to get to the other side - the "other side" meaning heaven - it crossed the road to get killed by a vehicle and reach heaven.
