As a cook myself, when you are cooking Chicken, the number one priority is to clean the chicken including plucking feathers and all…I know cause when I get a big box of raw chicken wings, I always clean it no matter how long it takes, I get the job done and place the portion sizes in ziplock bags. But also one of the other things that you have to do with the chicken is to seasoned/marinate them and then have it ready the day to fry them and then serve it to the customer. Waffles are meant to be sweet not salty, Chicken & Waffles are the Yin & Yang of Savory Salty and Sweet, but when you upset that balance by making the waffles salty, nothing will save the dish. It's funny to me what some people call delicious. I have a friend who has recommended a couple soul food restaurants for him and I to visit and when I say I don't know what kind of palate he has but he's been fired from picking places to eat😂 I'm from Detroit and unfortunately I would not suggest any soul food places to anyone because I haven't been satisfied with any of them. I don't know if it's because I can cook and I come from a family that cooks but I'm hard to please when it comes to soul food. First thing I try is the Mac and the green beans if those are garbage I'm done. I don't eat at soul food restaurants in my city anymore. Also, a lot of the staff at these places hate their jobs and it shows lol smh
