Nandos,definitely. As soon I saw the Morrison's chicken, I knew it was going to be drier than Ghandi's flip-flop. Those chips looked like mini javelins.Thank Christ you had the salad and coleslaw, or you might have choked with the dryness level.

This is a slightly one sided comparison really mate... As Nando's specialty has always been Chicken with a marinade coating of your choice on their skins... The Morrison Chicken is just a simple plain Roast Chicken... That's like comparing cheap budget Oven Chips with Chips from an award winning Fish & Chip Shop... Which uses traditional Beef Dripping to fry their Chips in... There's absolutely no comparison whatsoever... Morrison do actually know how to cook delicious tasting Roast Chickens... You need to find out when your local Morrison Supermarket... Finish cooking their freshly cooked Rotisserie Chickens that they'll make every day... But don't just ask for a freshly cooked Roast Chicken... Ask for what's known as an "Extra Tasty Roast Chicken"... Then try one of these Chickens for yourself... It will be very different from the regular Cafe Chicken you tried here... The flavour of the Extra Tasty Roast Chicken is incredible... And it's also very moist and succulent too... Whereas the Cafe version might have been dried out somewhat... When they've been stood under those food heating lamps for awhile... The Chips looked like someone in the kitchen had left them in a little longer than they should have... But you've had Morrison Cafe Chips before... That weren't anywhere near as bad as those that you had here this time my friend... You were obviously just very unlucky on this occasion... That's all it was buddy. 👌

Happy Sunday from rainy Los Angeles! 🙋‍♀️ Nando's gets my vote. Everything looked better at Nando's except the coleslaw. Being an American, I could never get used to British coleslaw, way too creamy. I prefer our coleslaw varieties, especially a good Southern style slaw.

As a kid in the 1950s, fish and chip shops would cook the chips the colour of the Morrison’s chips. Gradually they got lighter as lighter meant cooked in less time. Over the years the lighter chips became the norm and people became used to them and the flavour they have. Now we expect chips crispy on the outside and fluffy inside- Belgian style. This normally means cooked elsewhere once, then flash fried at the restaurant. If the chicken is more moist, the probability is that it has been ‘brined’ (an American term). Definitely tastes better, but it is indicative of how many people are struggling with hypertension. So, yes, Nandos will definitely be the 2024 winner.

I think hypertension is more common now due to what you mentioned but also generally food is more shit now everything has some kind of added preservatives or higher salt/fat content in shops.

Nearly 18 quid for chicken n chips 😮 No way! I can buy a whole chicken for 3.50 and add lemon and herbs. I understand that you prefer Nando’s for obvious taste but… the world is in a different place right now. Great review as usual and you’re still the combo king. 👍

I'm not surprised that Nandos made the better chicker, but yer, Morrisons offer incredible value if you just want a quick meal. If you want to eat somewhere with friends though, Nandos all the way I think.

That is a poor effort from Morrison - however, in fairness, the prices should lead & balance your expectations. Nando's is very tasty but costs a lot more, as you would expect. Thanks for the video, fella!

If you're working to a budget Morrisons is your VFM meal. If you're wadded and prefer quality then Nando's. Ever heard the expression Courses for Horses ? I really don't mind Morrisons for a bacon barm and a quick brew but it's not fine dining 😁

The chips looked a little over done to the Morrisons Meal & although the chicken looked nice it was on dry side, I thought,when you cut into it & serving of coleslaw could have been a little larger. Such a contrast with Nandos, Chicken looked gorgeous with the lovely Golden Skin, It cut into much more easily than Morrison's & looked more tender & moist your knife also cut into it much easier, the chips were lovely too served with right amount of coleslaw. I could see you were enjoying this meal!! A tip if you are roasting your own chicken, sprinkle with paprika before cooking- it makes skin crispy!! So for me Nandos is the winner!!! The Morrisons chicken looked nice, but when you showed the piece on your fork, I straightaway said to myself, "That looks a little dry." Morrisons,though,in my opinion, is the best supermarket cafe I've eaten in. I've never had Nando's before, but that chicken looked elite. I think it's time to take a trip to Nandos. I've not been to a Nandos before & never thought I'd choose Morrison's over a full time chicken restaurant - but to me the chips on the Morrison's plate & the chicken looked far more appetising than Nando's. Where both chickens served hot? I usually have some Cumin on my person & green chillies to give my food an extra zing. I used to compare chicken shops to KFC- I've been to KFC & compared it to Dixy, Chicken Cottage, Allen's Fried Chicken etc. I was spoilt for choice when I lived in Manchester which chicken shop to to make the comparison with Allen's Fried chicken, it was much cheaper - the chicken moist, the gravy was a world beater! I used to seek them out & found shop to shop & was pleased the universal taste was one of excellence. Having to move away from Manchester there is a KFC, no independent chicken shops, only the Turkish takeaways offer a fried chicken meal. Invited my friend from Guiseley West Yorkshire - she was a Fried chicken fan - she too was knocked out by Allen's Fried Chicken. I've not had a KFC here in my hometown, I pretend I have an allergy - because once I've had it, it becomes addictive & I love the stuff. Great vlog as usual, looking forward to more.

In all honesty mate, this looked like food that I was served in the 80's! Bland, dry and lacking any imagination. Desperately in need of some sort of gravy. Mind, I've always thought of Nando's as a burger joint, but for chickens 😂 Never seen the appeal of the place. So, I'd go Morrisons. Though, tell the staff not to forget about the chips in the oven next time 😄

Morristons chicken could have used some kind of sauce, to combat the dry breast. Idk what exactly. But fat and water plus herb(s) basil,thyme,rosemary,tarragon or combo.

A simple easy dish, chicken and chips. And a roast, not fried bits but half a bird😊The first problem, how to eat the chicken? It's hard to cut the bird as it sits. So dismember ,pull the leg & thighs apart. Then cut the wing away from the breast 😊 Hand hold legs &thighs to eat( think Henry the 8th) knife and fork breast. Morrisons canteen style food,and service. Overcooked chips 😢Dry chicken, a total lack of class. It should glisten with at least a sprinkle of salt'n'pepper 😢Fail! Nando's a specialist restaurant 😊The chicken looked the part,the sheen&grill charing magic Chips, small portion but better cooked. Coleslaw on both about par..Tiny salad garnish a plus.But winner, winner chicken dinner ❤😊 Nando's tadge pricey, but again better quality 😊Allan&Family

I like that the chips lack potato flavour and that the chicken breast has a subtle chicken taste....did the cherry tomato have a kinda tomatoey flavour ?.. It's basic grub i find it hard to go into details like it was a Michelin restaurant. nice review

I don't eat out as often as you so when I do eat out I'm willing to spend a bit more for a better meal. Twice as much is a big jump I will grant you, but the Morrisons meal just seemed fairly bland. If I want bland and boring food then I'll cook it myself. I'd give this one to Nando's. For a fairly bland meal I can sleep walk my way through fixing it at home.

My local grill does a whole peri peri chicken at 7.50 a touch small but the flavours are miles better than Nandos and the extra money usually goes towards some nice seekh kebabs. Or you can get a half chicken and chips for 5.50, amazing if you're only slightly peckish.

Tbh I think Nandos wins as it's a chicken restaurant not a cover all and hope for the best. I usually go for the slightly hotter spice on the chicken and get the olives as a starter with the corn onthe cob as a side. It may be a tad more expensive but you get what you pay for. NANDOS wins

A better comparison would have been just a plain chicken at Nandos, to guage the quality of the chicken and cooking skills. I reckon you are paying for the brand and the location. Was it worth twice the price - not at all. If you know in advance what you going to have, take asome seasoning with you. I recently had the Beef Madras at W'spoon as part of the Curry Club, and thought it was quite bland. Not much of a kick, but was served hot.I had intended to take some caynees pepper with me to spice it up but forgot Portion size as a whole was adequate, but I will not be having a curry in there agaon.

Just a pity that the Morisons plate was over cooked, both the chips and the chicken which is why the breast meat was dry and crumbly. Comes down to the kitchen staff on the day. From a value point of view the Morisons plate was much better value and included a green salad

Morrisons chips look like they’ve been reheated two or three times, and therefore dried out and burnt. Chicken looks dry and tasteless. Nando’s all looks better but is a rip-off, and you missed out on the bottled sauces. You’d do better sticking with a ‘Spoons. 😂
