Good morning. We're not completely moved yet, but we are staying at the new house. Yesterday, my wife saw a hummingbird at the new house. So I'll be putting up one of the feeders either this afternoon or tomorrow. Have a good weekend.

Hi Larry, is the whole base feeder supposed to fill up with the feed? I noticed on the base feeder, there's a middle channel that goes toward the ports, so I don't think the birds are being fed the correct amount, since the whole base is filling up. I can feel/hear the feeder body click into place. Ready to cry! Thank you! 😢

Yes, I think the entire base filled up. It’s dark here now, I’ll check it in the morning. If I see anything unusual or different I’ll let you know

@@xrockker OK, mine needed more nectar so I brought it in and took it apart. First, remember I don't work for this company, they just sent me a feeder for review. Having said that, I would contact their support staff and ask them the same question. I see what you are saying about the channels. It sounds like you don't have a vacuum seal. I would do take the top off and make sure that white inside cover is on tight. If it is, retighten the top for a good seal. Then refill the feeder, I'd use plain water until I made sure it was working. The nectar should not come out of the feeding ports for sure. It could be you just got a defective feeder. I hope this helps. Please reach out to the support and let me know if you get it to work and what you did to fix it. I certainly don't want to be promoting bad products and will let my viewers know in a follow up.

​@@LSatch Thanks for your reply. The ports are no longer leaking at this point, and the birds are visiting, briefly, here and there. I don't understand the purpose of that seal on the top, but I may bring it in today, and check the seal and try again. Thanks again. 👍

@@xrockker Glad to hear it's working. The seal at the top is important so that the feeder can create a vacuum. With the vacuum, the nectar will fill the bottom as the birds eat. Without the vacuum all the nectar will just run out of the feeding ports.
