The chooks destroyed the salad bar but Julie got it sorted, Now the brood can all enjoy a salad as reported. Alas the summer brings the molt but MP won't be flappin, She'll feed em tend em even mend em and they'll keep on tappin. Dose the water get them through the stress of all the molting, Now there happy you will see that now they won't be bolting. I have only one more thing and that's that I'm a fan of ya, God bless Madam President and ALL HAIL CHICKENLANDIA. 👍😊😎🥁❤

If you have any tips, please help! We moved into a house & the owners left their chickens for us. The transition happened during their molt (we had no idea how to take care of chickens so I was just following the directions left behind & researching what I could). I've learned a lot over the past several months but am still concerned because many of them never grew back their feathers. The roosters were really aggressive towards the hens (& grumpy at us), pulling out their feathers & even scratching up the back of 1 in particular. Things have improved a little bit but they still have missing feathers. My poor Chibi (runt in Japanese lol) is super bald. She seems to get picked on a lot since shortly after we moved in & I've tried separating her for a few days but it didn't work. I can't find any lice or mites & she eats/drinks just fine. I read it can take up to a whole year to grow some feathers back? Yikes! She went through winter bald & it was so hard to catch her but when I could I would use special ointments to help protect her skin. I know you can't diagnose any issues but do you have any suggestions of things I could try to help them finally grow their feathers back? I improved their diet (shells are nice & strong, yolks are becoming more orange - they were pale yellow when we moved in with frail shells). I put electrolytes/vitamins in their water & ferment their feed now too. I give them mealworms & a bug blend & scramble up their eggs for them sometimes. I just feel so bad & want them to be as happy & healthy as possible. We will be getting 4 new chickens (a family had to move & can't take them with them). I'm hoping that having a few more hens will help the roosters (I think we have too many roosters for how many hens but am unsure, 13 hens & 2 roosters). I know the change really stressed them out cos they didn't have this issue before we moved in. So far, I've made a separate pen set up for the new chickens to acclimate in & will have a separate kennel set up in the coop for them at night. I want to prevent the problem from happening to the new hens as well. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

can you give 4 week old chicks who have a lot of feathers coming in a can of sardines?
@WelcometoChickenlandia
@WelcometoChickenlandia 5 жыл бұрын
Depending on how many you have, you may not want to give a whole can. But the boost of protein and a little fat should be good for them! Make sure it doesn't have extra salt.

People had chickens before giving them probiotics and electrolytes. Isn't that a little bit out there? Won't they find minerals they need? Thanks.
@jfuentes9188
@jfuentes9188 4 жыл бұрын
I don't think it's way out there at all. Unless chickens are free range, it's kind of hard for them to find minerals they need in a run they are usually in. They're good at decimating resources in a limited area. Seems logical to give them a supplemental boost, especially during moult
