i would like to add that you do not use acetone but actually use alcohol to clean up the smile line because these are gel soak off so if you use acetone u can be breaking down the base coat that you already applied.

Phi Le i use acetone all the time. my customer's nails never get cheap. small amount acetone cant be strong enough to break down the gel undercoat. even some case it will but the top will cover it for sure. some people prefer to use acetone as it define the line sharper n quicker than alcohol.

Nice video. This is one thing I love about LED Gel Polish. Once I have a cured clear coat, I can do a quick swipe of acetone to wipe away accent colors (or perfect French White lines), without it having any effect on the gel coats below. I've done this many times, and the manicure lasted 3 weeks! It did not break down the underlying coats. It makes sense, since to remove a gel manicure, you have to buff through the surface of the final clear coat, and then SOAK in acetone for 10 or 15 minutes, to get that gel polish to budge.

arlene aguinaldo that's perfectly normal and each coat will stay sticky (although I wouldn't recommend touching them in between). The top coat will be sticky too until you wipe it with an alcohol pad.

Not really. The two coats of white are thin and the top coat self-levels. If you experience unevenness you can apply a second layer of top coat.

Gel lasts longer it's also stronger and more shiny. Regular chips and doesn't last as long but is easier to apply.👍 (the application part is just my option)

Isaiahxy27 I would just get some rubbing alcohol (in a bottle) and put some on a cotton pad, it works just the same. You can find rubbing alcohol for a dollar at Walmart or usually a dollar store

It depends on what type of lamp you have. If you have an LED lamp, it's 30 seconds. If you have a UV lamp it's 2 minutes.

remixedv It's true, eczema is an inflammatory disease. I had it for all of my childhood and adolescence. I used to scratch until I bled. It wasn't until I changed my diet, that this disease disappeared. I cut a lot of processed foods, all dairy and all gluten. I Recently, started eating whatever my peers ate (aka the S.A.D), and my eczema has come back.

I have a couple questions, first is: do you find it not necessary to "wipe" the foundation coat after you cure it? Second, when you clean up the tips do you add more foundation gel since you've removed it with the acetone/alcohol etc.? I'm trying to achieve a true french manicure, not just "white tips" and I need to make sure the "sheer pink" polish on the bottom sticks properly. Thanks a bunch :D

You don't have to wipe down the foundation gel, and also when she used the acetone on the foundation gel for cleaning up, the foundation gel is actually cured so the acetone is not gonna remove the foundation unless it is not cured properly. Hope this answer your questions.

Dieamond Because it's not staying in contact with the polish for an extended period of time. You have to soak gel polish in acetone for several minutes to remove it.

when you clean up the smile line always use alcohol. acetone removes gel polish :) so it will start to break it down. the skin is fine to use is if you choose.

Billie-Jo Bratton Im not sure if Andrea is a professional she does a nice job so i wouldnt be surprised if she is. I am and can tell you most gel polish lines will tell you not to clean up your lines with acetone, use alcohol it will remove the polish you need to clean up from the sides just as easy as acetone (as long as u clean up before curing) using a small amount on you brush (dab the excess off) and clean up your line.
