Just think we all need to remember that in cycle 4 Jay and the rest of the cast and crew shamed and invalidated Keenyah’s concerns about how one of the male models was groping her and moaning in her ear during the shoot. She stopped the shoot and expressed her discomfort. Jay said, and I quote, “we’re here in a professional situation, there are like fifty of us here on set” the photographer agreed and encouraged her to “go with the flow.” This exchange could be taken in one of two disgusting ways. One, “there are so many of us here, we would have seen/heard something like that so you must be blowing it out of proportion.” Or two, “there are so many of us here why would you waste our time with your concerns.” And this was just one of the worst of many circumstances in which Jay was insensitive, belittling, and absolutely toxic to the models. His hands are not clean.

Well as a kid, they make you think it's normal and okay. Stuff like this was a big part of how we were taught life works in general. That we had to compromise ourselves just to survive and that it was okay and you can't do anything about it so shut up and take it. But now we can look back and see that its not normal, it's not supposed to be. The amount of times I was told, even for regular jobs, that you're here to work, be professional, take what they throw at you otherwise you'll lose your job and be homeless, even if what they're throwing at you in unethical and wrong. To compromise your boundaries for a job. Let people use you and treat you like a tool to get what they want and you have to shut up and take it. It's so gross.

I also didn't believe "real models" had to do such crazy shoots they had to do on the show. Maybe once in a great while but Tyra was constantly endangering them and torturing. One episode a girl talked about fear of spiders, next day SPIDER PHOTOSHOOT. Another's best friend died, next day CEMETERY PHOTOSHOOT. I would record the show and fast forward to just watch the photos. The Jay's and Nigel were definitely more helpful but Mr. Jay was rude half the time. I was all about Nigel and Ms. Jay. They were once close and good friends and she really relied heavily on him because he was great at what he did for the show. I think she took it personal when instead she should have been professional about it. Because he was her friend I think she felt betrayed when she wanted him back even though his contract ended and he didn't want to go back because he wanted to pursue other things. Friends are supposed to have each others back and be there when in need, so maybe she needed his help and when he declined she felt betrayed by her friend and that is when things started to go down hill. Things were said and he went back but not willingly so I'm sure that must have made the set awkward for them and that could be one of the reasons why she didn't speak to him when the cameras weren't rolling. The disadvantage thing about working with friends or family in a business setting is that when handling conflicts sometimes you lose yourself in a professional manner and it becomes personal, you feel hurt and or betrayed and that for sure will take a huge toll in your relationships. Lastly, Tyra is retired, but was a famous model known all over the world. Jay, never knew he existed until top model. Lol. Jay needs to be more appreciative of Tyra and less salty and sassy. She boosted his career. Be grateful not ungrateful. That's all.
@jamgart4 жыл бұрын
That’s different. RuPaul and Pearl were host and contestant. You don’t have a relationship with them to start with and you can’t (as a host) put yourself in a position that may show favouritism. But with Tyra and Jay, they were work colleagues, they worked with each other behind the scenes and before cameras were rolling. It’s like having an everyday office partnership compared to a client relationship. There’s a certain distance you keep with clients.
@hayyaanhussain4 жыл бұрын
@@jamgart I understand that but you NEVER say to a contestant "nothing you say matters unless the cameras are rolling". At that age and especially in a competition where you think your life could change forever if you win, they had no voice and just wanted to please everyone and win. They were so young and vulnerable. For a moment I was like “you don’t get a pass when you contributed to the shows detrimental atmosphere”, but then I remember he mentioned the contract that so much of this behind the scenes stuff is so forced and contracts bind people from leaving, disagreeing or even speaking on it until they’re out of it. Sometimes people never get out of a contract. That is such an evil side of show business on every platform, even in the music industry. Signing a contract is like selling your soul because that’s how it feels while you have to endure watching horrible things happening and not being able to blow the whistle or close your eyes to it. Still, accountability is necessary, but I imagine fear and brainwashing will hinder that.

I honestly never thought the race swap shoot was Jays idea. Something about his expressions made me think he was under pressure. I honestly thought it was a Tyra idea, just seemed the kind of tone deaf thing she’s suggest

5:38 Yeah, like the judges, including Jay, would say to the models: "Those are all excuses, suck it up". Well, Jay, suck it up, you're the creative director. Act like one, do something about it and direct creatively.

Tyra probably called him after this and told him he needed to speak up if he was so uncomfortable like she did with Caridee getting hypothermia in the pool, as if these people don’t know they’ll be punished for bailing due to unbearable discomfort.😂

I was there for her first ever episode of her talk show. It took 4 hours to record because she kept messing up her lines and she had to start all over since it was one take. By the third hour ovee half the audience left because it took forever. I stayed the whole 4 hours. When it finally ended she didn't even thank the audience for staying. And there was literally 15 of us left. She just walked away. She has always been a bitch. Im glad Naomi made her life miserable!

Untrue. Tyra ws bullied by Naomi Campbell. Naomi remembers some things herself, and also apologises to Tyra. If you wish to, I suggest looking up the video of, "Naomi and Tyra" on the Tyra show. The two now get along as sisters, and have been good for many years.

Tyra had had years of fallouts, after which she apologizes in a roundabout way shortly before she splits with more people. I genuinely want her to have a real breakthrough about how the pattern of her life has been tearing people down and apologizing in hindsight. Saying “I’ve grown since then. I’m different now.” is not the same as actually learning and growing. Accountability can be imitated, but never replaced.

Oh, please. Girls may look pretty but they take smelly shit too. In a perfect world everything would be perfect and even shit would smell nice perhaps like baked sweet potato pie. Lol. Why some people are so sensitive? Why some people feel the need to bash others and ruin their reputation? I don't discredit Jay but there are always two or more sides to the same story for all individual involved. Why are people hating on Tyra when they haven't heard her side of the story? It boggles me that people are so shocked over this as if they've never witness anything like this before. We've all been through this one way or another at work, it's nothing new. But is it really worth destroying somebody's reputation? Some things should just be handled in private. It's not like she sexually harassed or assaulted Jay and other staff members. She was just difficult to work with but is it really worth outing her over it. Lol.
@strikelee33694 жыл бұрын
Now and days you can't say anything or even joke around without the possibility of offending someone and getting fired over it. Some people are getting way over sensitive. Everything might as well be kitchen talk for now on. Lol. Ellen can come off as rude and bitchy at times but don't we all even when at work. We've all have had plenty of bad days at work. But the Ellen show should be held accountable if the allegations are true about rasicms, sexism, etc on the Ellen show. But why her former staffs say something now and not then? Does it mean that it didn't bother them as much to have not said something then? Are any of her former staffs in therapy over this and can they not go on with life because of it? If she was just difficult to work with then I don't want to hear it. Just because someone is difficult to work with doesn't mean they are a bad person, horrible boss, and or dislike their employees. Not every person works well with every person, it just doesn't work that way. If the Ellen show got cancelled then Wendy Williams better watch out. She is flat out rude to some of her guest and staffs and the way she treats Suzanne at times is uncalled for and hard to watch making me feel embarrassed for Wendy. She is someone I could imagine would be difficult to work with, I'd be walking on eggshells with her. I don't think she's a bad person or bad boss but you really have to get her to be able to work with her.
