This is maybe a strange take but I find that a huge part of the appeal of worlds like the one in chicory is the inherently cloying and excessively sweet nature of their world, sweet to the point of impossibility, and though it's not what they're going for, the gap between that sweetness and reality peeks through in moments like this in a way I really like. I like the manipulativeness. I'm reminded of a toy dad I saw once at a supermarket as a kid who sang praises for you and told you he was proud of you and how empty and sad that made me. That feeling is one I like recapturing through sentimental media.

I always mostly assumed that when drawing at the art school people mostly just gave compliments because you're the weilder. Kind of like if some big shot artist made something terrible artsy people might consider it brilliant and genius. Especially since Raddish calls your bull and questions why everyone fawning over the art. Aside from that I feel that outside of the weilder stuff most artists in the game are extremely supportive if each other and anyone trying to create art so it make sense that even if you made some mid or not that great that characters would give you praise and cheer you on

"This may be an example of how stories get worse the more you think about them." I can't say this sat well with me, and struck me as particularly odd coming from someone that writes video essays?

1. First, 2. I whud like to introduse you to a game caled "event[0]" its a game that i had in my mind watching this video, why? Becuse its a game, where you have to talk to an AI robot, by typeing any words, any sentanse, anything you can think of, and it works suprizingly well, of corse not always but it rarely gives a wierd response, it also has moods, to see what response to make out, the only minor limitatsion is that it fixes spelling mistakes, witch foesnt sound like a problem until you realize, what if the game doesnt recocnize a word? But even still, its a game that whud probibly make this video be seen in a completly diffrent way

I think they're just trying to reward you for your effort though. Like most games, you get what you put in. If you face the task with serious effort, the game wants to validate that effort for you. If you make 0 effort, the game still wants to validate your effort. But because you made 0 effort, the validity comes off as cheap. You can't criticize a game's effort if you haven't made any effort yourself.
