Wow. I noticed during the game we were often going after Daniels after he had handed it off. I assumed they just got fooled. Hearing that it’s part of the plan makes perfect sense. That’s why I love watching breakdown videos. Some people rate teams based on wins/losses. Some by stats. I do it based on what I see in the game. But then I watch videos like this and see the game within the game. You can’t know what went right until you know what was intended to happen.

we do this mesh point against all mobile qbs.. we did against giants as well. the difference is everyone else did their job in run defense this past week.

I swear the Steelers build their team to beat the Ravens each year lol. A dominant D line and athletic and physical LBs/Safeties is a good way to slow down Lamar and Henry. We got a good test with Daniels and Ekeler and passed. Ravens will be the next level.

Great breakdown, Alex, thanks so much. The only play which really chaps my hide is the hold in the end zone. As missed calls go, it looked absolutely inexcusable. If the Commanders had completed the pass, it would have ruined the game. Can't miss a call like that. It's too blatant of a bias against TJ.

i would like to see us use herbig, TJ, Smitty, Cam and Preston all in one defensive personnel. Preston, Cam, TJ on the inside with herbig and smitty as the 2 edges. This would be on obvious passing downs but i think those 5 onn the filed would wreck havoc for opposing Olines.

It surprises me that we don't blitz as much with wilson and queen. there are fast and quick enough to get in the backfield. look at the chiefs blitz packages. They simulate pressure and actually bring pressure when they are in nickel, base, and dime. feel like we need to be more aggressive as we go down the stretch. keep these offenses guessing by doing things they are not used to seeing us do.

Wrong on Daniels. He’s a pass first QB and an excellent one at that. Steelers did neutralize his running ability but he’s been very hesitant to run since his injury
