This is in support and appeal for global support for Chidimma Vanessa Adetshina who found herself at the centre of a row regarding whether she is eligible to contest in Miss South Africa 2024. Her detractors questioned her identity as her mother is of Mozambique origin and her father is Nigerian. Some of the attacks on social media were blatantly xenophobic, and she eventually pulled out of the Miss South Africa contest. Then she was invited to contest in the Miss Universe Nigeria - Vote Chidimma Vanessa Adetshina contestant number 25, representing Taraba state in Miss Universe Nigeria
On 31 August 2024, Chidimma Vanessa Adetshina was crowned Miss Universe Nigeria.
