Wow! The most revealing and best interview Commander Obey has given to date bar none. Commendations to you Mogbede for facilitating and airing this. Applause also to your interviewer, Alabi whose ability to ask direct and penetrating questions and listen to his guest is a joy to behold for Nigerian journalist. He is a tremendous asset to your set up. A very well done to you and to Alabi. Commander also remains a living legend in Juju Genre and a pride of the Yoruba race and Nigeria. He is the greatest music composer of all time; even surpassing his mentor, Pa Adeolu Akinsanya. May Commander live many more years with continued grace. I doff my hat Sir.

I know right, I have never heard of Adeolu Akinsanya until this interview. Just to know where his style of music came from is amazing.

@@adstix I don't know. Perhaps Mogbede TV can shed light on his demise or do a segment to honor his memory.

Ebenezer Obey's life is as interesting as his career. He is unarguably one of the most respectable artistes of his time , era and beyond. He is a musician with a difference. In his Biography penned by Mike Awoyinfa to celebrate Obey's 50th birthday in 1992, Chief MKO Abiola wrote the forward of the book and he noted that "there is no gentle-manliness in music but Ebenezer Obey is an exemption." I wish him fruitful years.

Brilliant interview 👍 However, it would have been nice to hear Chief Commander talk a bit more about his family - like the reaction of his mother when juju music brought fame & fortune, his siblings, his children's vocation, particularly Tolu Obey. It would also have been interesting to hear him talk about his relationship with KSA over the decades. But still, Alabi performed well as always 👍
