I enjoyed hearing that he teaches that the soul goes on and that its accountable - that is refreshing to hear , as I have heard from other jewish acquaintances that they believe and have been taught that it is only this life and that the afterlife is only a afterthought and is not. Also I found the Hebrew name for the bird , the stork - chasidah - meaning righteous and kind Interesting - tender among themselves , harsh against outsiders - and that it is forbidden to eat being group with predator birds of prey .. The rabbi says it is forbidden as it is harsh to outsiders .. This story reminds me of a incident that can throw another angle , an opposite angle onto why the stork may have been forbidden to the Israelites. It's true we overlook Roma people too often. I often wonder of a better nice productive solution for the many eastern European Roma in Scotland who mainly seem to just beg. So I've looked a little into historically their people would actually live when not so marginalized. Which made me think that they might might oerfect people to repopulate the crofts of Northern Scotland. I'm sure they're would be lots to learn both ways in the process.

Fair concern, to be sure.. But I'd hazard a guess the Rabbi I am hearing doing the talking now has done much soul searching and inner change. And he'll be fully aware that now he has publicly announced his sense of mission, we, the greater community, as community, have a point of contact in accountability into the responsibilities he outlined. Yeh am a realist, and fed up for seeing it all before. But I do belive in helping each other to come to a better understanding and way of working.

Apartheid Israel? Really? All Israeli citizens - be they Jews of faith or no faith, Palestinians of Muslim, Christian or no faith at all - have the right to vote, elect members of the Knesset, serve in the IDF and be appointed to Israel's Supreme Court. That doesn't sound like an Apartheid state to me.

Israel is an apartheid and breaks many humanitarian and international laws while being unchecked in the murder of children. Mirvis is complicit in this as much as any supporter of Israel
