Rabbi Aaron Allsbrook: From Orthodox Rabbi to Jesus

In this episode, Rabbi Aaron Allsbrook shares about his journey of becoming an Orthodox Rabbi and then committing himself to Jewish life with faith in Jesus. Born and raised in Southern California, Rabbi Aaron Allsbrook was raised in a Jewish home where Jesus was embraced. At the end of high school he began to feel that there was more to his faith and his Jewishness than just Passover and Hanukkah at his grandparents.
After, his first trip to Israel and his first visit to an Orthodox synagogue, Aaron realized his Jewishness was something central to his identity. He began to live as an Orthodox Jew, including getting Orthodox rabbinic ordination. But he felt there was something missing, something more. He longed to feel the Spirit and love of God as a part of his Jewish traditions. He left the Orthodox world and began to seek a way of living a Jewish life that included a personal relationship with Jesus.
His travels brought him to Israel, where he lived for four years, and then to New York, where he met his wife, Brooke. In New York he was a special education teacher and an assistant rabbi at a Messianic synagogue on Long Island. After several years of serving in this capacity, he wanted to pursue being a full-time Messianic rabbi, which is what led him to lead Ohev Yisrael in Washington DC. Rabbi Aaron desires to see people come to know Yeshua, their Messiah, and live lives full of the Spirit of God.

His story is similar to mine in some ways! I was born/raised traditionally Jewish but became drawn to Christ as a teen. I ended up believing in Jesus as Savior and joined the Church. I was happy but when my Dad died (I was 39), I returned to Orthodox Judaism for about 10 yrs...I wanted to "be Jewish again" for him. But it was spiritually unfulfilling. I tried to find the same level of personal spirituality but couldn't. God caused me to find Christ hidden in Jewish texts like the Zohar and the Ramchal. I returned to Christ and am grateful for my time in Torah Judaism bc it deepened my walk with Christ ultimately!

Once your born again or circumsition of the heart, you cannot turn to false gods anymore, because your seal with the Holy Spirit. If your born a jew by your father's lineage, then your still 100% jewish and both Jewish and gentile believers in Christ or Jewish Messiah are in the body of Christ and will be a new creation when your glorified in Christ.

@@annavallone128 yes, your Jewish because your father is. Yes, your already in Abraham seed, but the gentiles in Christ are adopted into Abraham seed by being in the body of Christ. The body of Christ is the bride, even though Jews are still the wife of God and also the bride too. Christ is the head and the husband. This also shows patriarchal lineage. When God said that Abraham would be a father to many nations, this is the only way, because if not, he would be the father of Israel and Arab countries only, which is not many. All Jewish and gentile believers will be a new creation.

Jesus told me....that He is heartbroken over the rejection of His Jewish people. I have been feeling heartbroken over my own rejection of my family....and poured my heart out to Jesus to heal my heart. He impressed upon me ....His love and understanding because He experienced the same feeling. Jews will accept Jesus fully as the Messiah...as He will be coming soon ...revealing Himself as the Savior of the world!

The Tanakh says Messiah David is going to be resurrected and rule as king of Israel and of the nations. Ezekiel 37:23-27, Ezekiel 34:23, Hosea 3:5, Jeremiah 30:9, Psalm 16:10. Jesus, Iesou, Yeshua of Natsret is a Greek invention a demigod. Jesus never even got the sacred oil poured over his head from a shofar to become king of Israel as it is commanded. Psalm 16:10 shows King David knew He would be resurrected. Also King David is the only anointed one born in Bethlechem. True, it kind of doesn’t make sense, but when we look at being Jewish as a cultural one, then God can be removed. Interestingly, my atheist Jewish grandfather used to read the Bible. He particularly loved the prophets who spoke of justice.

I am goyim as far as I know 😊 but I have started observing the feast the last few years because I felt lead to do so. The difference is we know who all the feast are about and it is wonderful to celebrate and honor the messiah. I do however envy the closeness and a lot of the culture of Jewish people. I would love to do Pesach with a Jewish family some year or any of the feast really. Thank you for the amazing testimonies

I was baptized a Catholic at birth without my consent, became Protestant and was re-baptised with consent at age 20. Now at age 65, I realize both denominations were severely in error by not celebrating Passover and by not following the 4th Commandment to remember the 7th day Sabbath. As I am not an ethnic Jew I call myself a Messianic Christian, as opposed to most Christians who rest on Sunday and celebrate Easter, both of which are pagan customs and against the will of God. The truth has finally set me free. Jesus is Lord!

Brother or sister, why does this scripture then say "Therefore let no one pass judgment on you in questions of food and drink, or with regard to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath."?, i do remember that there is a scripture that says "Therefore whoever relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven."

"He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him." John 3: 36. "He that hath the Son hath Life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not Life." 1 John 5: 12. Thus, the Scriptures are very clear. You NEED to Repent from your sins and unbelief, Turn to Jesus Christ in Faith, Believing the Gospel, and Trusting in His Finished Sufficient Work of the Cross! The Gospel: That Jesus Christ Died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that He was Buried, and on the third day our Lord Rose Again from the dead, according to the Scriptures, by the Glory of God the Father, just as Jesus Himself had Promised, and for our Justification before God the Father thru our Humble Faith in Jesus Christ His Son Alone ! "For by Grace are you Saved through Faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the Gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast!" Ephesians 2: 8. I encourage you to seriously read through the book of Hebrews, and then the book of Romans, written by Paul of Tarsus the Apostle, who was a former pharisee but Called by Jesus Himself, and now converted to Christ after persecuting the Church of God.. the Body of Christ!

Shalom. I live in Malaysia, n I struggle to keep Shabat, the Appointed Times, the food I eat, keeping Torah, just like Yeshua did. For the simple reason, there is other in my family, except for one friend. For the love of Heavenly Father n Yeshua for what they have done for me. Heavenly Father has been kind. I had an Irish catholic mother and a Greek Orthodox father. My paternal great grandmother is believed to have been Jewish circa 1880s in Greece. We always thought it unusual when my dad, growing up here in Detroit, used to tell us that his family moved from one Jewish neighborhood to another in the 1920s. Not a lot of Gentile families in 1920s Detroit would have that as a priority. Hmmm Not proof but all the women in my great mothers family were named Rachel, Esther etc

If your mother's mother's mother's mother's mother's mother etc. was Jewish, you are Jewish. Judaism goes after the mother, so as long as one's mother is Jewish, they are. And if you are Jewish, you should return to Judaism. Certainly, it is interesting to have a look on the messianic ideas from the perspective of Judaism. It is also intersting to have a look on Judaism from the perspective of the messianic ideas. Then, you find probably that love, friendship, peace and responsibility for that world are in the center of both messianic streams. The only difference is in understanding where Shehina of Yehovah dwells at that moment. According to brother Paul, Shehina was not seen last time in the II Temple. It was seen on the face of Yeshua (II Cor 4, 6). Shehina has just left the Temple and has never returned. By the way, I do not think there is a need to take the symbols of Judaism, such as yarmulka or kippah or talit and use them among messianists. The power of the messianic ideas should be sufficient!

I’ve always wanted to know from a Jew what the Jewish holidays are because I dreamt of seeing an altar and on the table was a cross the menorah and an incense burner (still don’t fully understand what God was telling me) but since the dream I’ve had a sense of urgency in knowing more about the Jewish tradition when it comes to keeping Gods holy days. @easttexan2933 Yehoshua, or in English Joshua, is the main name. The Name Yeshua is a variant (shortened) from this root. In the Hebrew it is Yeshua (or Y'shua). It was carried over into the Greek as Ie'sous. When it was translated into Latin it became Ie'sus. From the Latin it was translated into English as Je'sus. So, Hebrew Yeshua; Greek Iesous; Latin Iesus; English Jesus. Hope this helps.

I have started to watch many videos or programs or read a book thinking it was written by a normative Jewish rabbi only to find that the rabbi believes in Jesus. It especially irks me when that rabbi claims he is not a Christian but a completed or fulfilled Jew. I think these Messianic groups should be honest and call themselves Protestant Evangelical Christians and their leaders Pastors.

On this particular video, I realized it was Messianic when I chose to watch it. I was intrigued about an Orthodox rabbi becoming a Christian in the current time. I had only read about that happening in the past, especially during times of anti-Jewish persecution.

Messianic movement is no different than evangelical Christianity with utilization of icons and symbols. So listening carefully this man was raised as a “believer?” That doesn’t sound very “orthodox” to me. It sounds like he was a believer in Jesus, then explored Judaism, then came back to Christianity. This man sounds like he never understood Judaism or God’s enteral and perfect Torah.
