Superb reaction Chief! The Villarreal sisters are amazing songwriters and performers who live in Monterrey, Mexico. Each one of their original songs is great. Their second album, "QUEEN OF THE MURDER SCENE", is a concept album. It follows a girl's journey into unrequited love; from infatuation and obsession on into stalking and murder, then madness and the fight over her soul. It is a masterpiece. It was nominated for Best Rock Album at the 2019 Independent Music Awards. Their 1st full-length LP, "XXI CENTURY BLOOD", is also very good and is packed with many great songs. The video for the title track, "XXI Century Blood", was nominated for and won many awards. Their very 1st released recordings are from their 6 song EP, "ESCAPE THE MIND"; and it is amazing. Despite being courted by numerous offers from many major record labels, The Warning have stayed independent through the years; relying on crowd funding to finance their projects. They refused to give up creative control over their material ... down to even the clothes they wear on stage. After 7 months of negotiations, The Warning signed a 5 album recording contract with Lava/Republic Records/Universal Music Group in the fall of 2020. They decided to release 1/2 (6 songs) of their completed 3rd full-length album in an EP called "MAYDAY". The entire album was released June 24th, 2022: called "ERROR". "Disciple" is my favorite track! The Warning do not come from a family of musicians, however, their parents are huge fans of classic rock. Both parents are professionals (civil engineer and dentist) and they enrolled their daughters into a private Catholic English speaking school Liceo de Monterrey, Mexico. They also started the girls with classical piano lessons at ages 6, 4 and 5 years old. Regular family functions included gathering around the TV with popcorn and watching LIVE concert dvds of legendary bands like Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Queen and AC/DC. When their parents got them the video game Rock Band at ages 8, 6 and 3, they went nuts playing it obsessively. A year or so later, they got "real" instruments with lessons from professional teachers: and the rest is history. Amazing they are 22, 20 and 17 years old and have already written, arranged, and released #46 original songs. I was fortunate enough to get to meet them after their show January 16th, 2020 at The Whisky a Go-Go in Hollywood, California. I had the opportunity to meet with them 2 more times during the 6 shows I attended on their North American MAYDAY Tour Aside from their music, they are just normal, sweet, intelligent, and fun-loving young ladies who are truely grateful and endearing to their fans. 🗣Thank you for sharing your reaction! 🤘🤓💯

I have to admit I was utterly wrong. I first heard Choke and thought it was a good song but that was it. KZbin’s algorithm recommended ‘Survive’ and I was skeptical, but I was wrong and fell down the rabbit hole hard. It’s all about their melodies. They prioritize melody over technical proficiency (which they can do) which is harder. Song after song, their melodies will be stuck in your head and you’ll keep coming back for more. Welcome to The Warning Army!

Very cool reaction Chief. I found these three young ladies a little over three years ago, and their music had a familiar sound that I couldn't put my finger on. As an old rocker from the 70's this music sounded so fresh to me, to have three sisters with their abilities is remarkable to say the least. I believe The Warning was put on this earth to give us old timers something to look forward to and to bring good Rock and Roll back to us. Peace.

This song is intended to sound dark and sinister. It is a funeral and the intro to _Queen of the Murder Scene._ The next song is 'Crimson Queen', which is another song that is different from the "usual" The Warning sound. Oh, and that basic undulating sound is Middle Eastern, just to show that they use many different musical influences.

Subscribing to follow your impending obsession with this amazing band. As others have and will say, Queen of The Murder Scene is a dark concept album which is best experienced in album song order. I hope you are considering reacting to "Queen Of The Murder Scene" in order, because it tells a dark story of love at a distance, obsession, murder, going crazy, and ultimately...death. . I don't know if you want to do it this way or not, if you are, I've done you a favor to help you along your journey. I went ahead and got all of the links from the same Lunario CDMX concert. I believe that this was actually the concert where they first presented their album to the public, live for the first time. It was recorded on November 25th, 2018. So at the time they played this concert Ale was 13 years old, Pau was 16 years old, Dany was 18 years old. It's interesting how as the story progresses, you can see Dany getting more and more into character. If you consider they are performing in Mexico City at an elevation of 7300 feet, I think by the time they got to the end of the show they were probably pretty worn out, but they still finished VERY STRONG!!! Great reaction! Welcome to The Warning! The rabbit hole entrance is this way, watch your head. 😂 We're all down here already, cheering on for a new member of The Warning Army! Dust to Dust is an exceptional prologue to an equally exceptional concept album. I hope you decide to do the whole album in order and let the lyrics and melodies take you along for one hell of a ride. It tells a story of a woman, The Crimson Queen, as she goes through unrequited love, obsession, murder, madness, and finally death through incredibly deep and emotional storytelling. If that's something that interests you, this intro is told through the eyes of the Queen's ghost. She is already dead at this time, and invites us to listen to her story. The bit with the guest is actually Rudy their manager who plays the part of a preacher at her funeral. The rest of the album is split into 4 chapters of 3 songs each, and the whole experience is a masterpiece! Subscribed and excited to follow you through your journey!

Welcome to TWA. I'm sure you've noticed, we don't just love the band, we love the people in it, and their team too. Never has such a wonderful group of folks amassed and set forth with a singular purpose, which is to share the creative output of three ladies, in the most sincere, powerful, engaging, and captivating way possible. You are exhibiting acute symptoms of TWE (The Warning Effect). I'm sure you won't mind, when I tell you there is no cure (nor escape) from it. Nobody's ever wanted it to go away anyway. Nobody, that is, except, maybe, some The Warning widows, but we can have that conversation another day. "Queen Of The Murder Scene", in order, please. I've seen a few recommendations to stray from the Lunario show, when you get to "Dull Knives (cut better)", and I humbly ask you would not. I do recommend checking out the "Warning Cave" version of the song, just not in the middle of experiencing Queen Of The Murder Scene at Lunario. As for "Shattered heart", and most other songs as well, I also disagree with some commentors, who would have you watch the "Whisky-a-Go-Go 2020" versions. For whatever reason, possibly the expected presence of record company folks or some such, the ladies presented in a very "over sell" kind of way that night, and did not portray their usual selves while singing. I understand some like the bit of crowd interaction during "Shattered Heart", which was pretty special, but the performance, live at Dakota Bar is far more in line with the original recording and spirit of the song. I may get a lashing from some for this comment, but I believe, especially once you've become more immersed into The Warning, you will see what I mean, and agree. I know you don't know me, but, I'm asking, nay, begging you take my advice here.

I'm in the no rhythm guitarist needed camp. Yes, they write their songs to utilize the tools they have, but some of their songs have double guitar parts because the song needed it. So, yes, those songs need a backing track to sound like the recording. Bands do that for their live performances, or sometimes they use a extra guitarist to fill in. But with The Warning, Ale is a great bassist who structures her parts to fill in the lower scale of what a rhythm guitar would fill in with. Dany has also tuned down her guitar a bit, running it a hair off pitch to make it sound fatter, a technique that guitarists like Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top uses. I don't think I have ever heard anyone suggest that ZZ Top needs a rhythm guitarist.

Hey Chief: Scanning through for reactions to The Warning brought me to you, so that's a double bonus in my book. I'm in my early 70's and I still remember the jolt to my system on first hearing Led Zeppelin (on vinyl of course, since that's all there was then) when they were a new band having released their first album. It's taken several decades to get that same thrill run through me again and it happened when I stumbled on the Warning. KZbin's algorithm now floods my "Recommended" list with them, which troubles me not a bit. Finally! The future of rock is in good hands! There are several music videos they've done of songs from their recent album "ERROR", but my preferences lead me to their live studio sessions. You might find it particularly inspiring to watch their official video of "Choke", followed immediately in the same session, if you can, with their live studio version of the same song. You want a hook that won't quit, let this one run around your brain.

I really enjoyed your reaction, and no need to apologize for showing your excitement and enthusiasm for these ladies. I have several thoughts: (1) I was pleased to see a reactor who understood that Rudy talking into the microphone is part of the song and that you enjoyed it. Lots of reactors want to know who the random guy is, and are put off by his presence, as if some stranger from the audience or the parking lot walked onto the stage uninvited and used a microphone that happened to be available. (2) If you like telephone noises in a song, I suggest the song, Copper Bullets. The song is about domestic violence so there are background sounds of people fighting, police sirens, and a phone dial tone in the middle of the song. Dany usually sings the song, but Pau sang it at the Lunario concert so Dany could rest her voice due to the strain of singing at a high elevation the band wasn't acclimated to. Frankly, I preferred Pau's version. The lighting on her isn't great at the Lunario concert because she was a last minute substitute for Dany. If you want to listen to Dany sing, I suggest the concert at the Dakota Bar or the Whisky a GoGo. All of these videos are available on The Warning's KZbin channel. (3) I am enjoying watching you get hooked on The Warning and lose yourself in the music. Dust to Dust at Lunario is what made me a fan, and I generally don't listen to new hard rock--I grew up on the classics. Don't be afraid to jump into The Warning's rabbit hole. There are plenty of people to catch you. The problem is there is no way out. (4) You are right about the ladies being down-to-earth, likable people. Their charisma, friendly personalities, and love of their fans makes it more enjoyable for me to listen to their music, and I can't help but root for their success.

No Chief..... Thank you for your time and great reaction. Well, it only took you 2 songs to be truly warned. The energy and passion from these 3 sisters is only one thing that sets them apart from other bands. Their talent and being performers is another. From over 40+ original songs, you will have your work cut out to build on your playlist of 2 songs. Dust to Dust is the intro song to their 2nd full album, and it is also a dark concept album called Queen of the murder scene where the main character falls down a dark journey of love that is not mutual. She will do anything to be the one, the love, but when she is not, she loses it. Many reactors have gone through this album song by song in order to discover the story and have been blown away by this masterpiece written by teenagers. Some of my favorite songs are Sinister Smiles, Dull Knives (good version from DeTour), Crimson Queen and the title track. Pau was around 15-16 when this was written I believe. Their most recent album, the first with a major label, is heavier. The production quality is significantly upped. For me, it is not as personal an album. But does show some great musicianship. Evolve is the hottest track and currently used to close their shows. I like the original music video and especially the version when they opened for Foo Fighters at a stadium in Mexico City. They have live, in-studio versions of several songs. Anonymity and Z are quite good at that venue. A couple more hidden gems are Narcissista, a song written as response to their Mexican critics for singing in English, Pau's haunting Black Holes about addiction written when she was 13 and Pau's piano cover of Creep. Also be sure to watch both versions of Enter Sandman, the first went viral when they were kids. Ale was just 9 years old. The more recent version is a collab with Grammy winner Alessia Cara and is total re-imagination of the song. Enjoy your journey.

The Warning Live is always pure theatre. They’ve perfected their performances to Broadway levels every time.

I had the same feeling when I first heard this song. It sounded so familiar to me like a song I heard a few times in the 90s or something and I forgot all about. That's the feeling. Like nostalgia and familiarity.

From what I hear when I listen to their music, the bass picks up alot where a rhythm guitar would be. And for three little ladies they put out a big sound.

You're following the same path I followed. Survive was my first introduction to TW and I was instantly hooked and down the rabbit hole. Dust to Dust was my second video and I immediately became a patreon and there's no going back. Enjoy your journey and yes you missed out seeing them live. Best live band I've ever experienced. Keep them coming. subscribed.

73 years of "experience" here Chief. If you want the best in LIVE performances you can go with anything from their concert in 2022 at "Teatro Metropolitan CDMX(Mexico City). Here's a little earlier(2016) version of SURVIVE at a TEDx talk held at the University of Nevada. kzbin.info/www/bejne/m4jKYoqtp9Jsb9E

QOTMS is an album best heard in order it's a Rock opera it tells a great story looking forward to your reactions, TWA will give you the order in which the album goes but you started this album perfectly by reacting to Dust to Dust next is Crimson Queen.

Since you started here with the prologue to their album "Queen of the Murder Scene", I recommend you just run through the album straight through! I wouldn't be mad if the album took over your YT channel till you finish it.

Oh, dude. How dare the promoters of AfterShock create an international crisis of conscious? Staging our sisters from Mexico on one, and our brothers from India on another at the same time. I see a lot of familiar TWA (The Warning Army) names here in the comments and have read thorough a good chunk as they all represent well. Very happy to be alongside another new fan of the talents of Dany, Pau and Ale as you have just recently begun your journey. Refreshing to see how quickly you have picked up on what genuine people the Villareal sisters are, not unlike our mates in Bloodywood. My suggestion is to follow along with other folks have posted here, though you can simply go to The Warning's channel and randomly pick any video and will not be disappointed. That is how good their material is.

I saw these awesome ladies twice live this year in Denver, Colorado. In my opinion, they are better live than a studio version of their songs. Their performances, whether big or small, emits emotion and passion for their music. Hands down, they are the future of Rock music. If you disagree, then bash me in the comments below!

I'm just going to cut n paste my comment from your survive reaction "Welcome to The Warning , My absolute favourite band of all time. If you liked that (and it almost appeared that you did 🙃) you wont be disappointed with everything else they do" They have only just begun 🙂

You should see their recent concert at Mexico City (at Metropilitan Theater) particularly the second one, with guests, since you’ll see them at the concert that for them has been the most important, and of course they gave an amazing show, and of course, it reflects how they’ve evolved, since it’s about their new album and at this state where they’re not little girls anymore (today Alejandra, the bassist turned 18).

You've just heard the first song of a rather entertaining concept album. Maybe continue through all the tracks in order. It tells a dark but interesting story, and the music that these three sisters created in the album is top notch. Either way your journey goes, you won't be disappointed, as these ladies just make good rock and roll music. Pick any song from any album and just find something to love. Never fails.

Sinister Smiles is another one you need to listen to! Studio and acoustic versions are both awesome.

The "phone calls in music" comparison is very apt. Rudy's speech is specifically modeled (by Pau) after radio preachers... so think of an old, static-filled radio broadcast... _"Brothers! Salvation is something earned..."_ etc. etc.

Good catch disposing of the 'little soldier' before feeling it roll across your tongue. That is never a good feeling. Oh, and nice reaction. This is one of The Warning's songs that I keep coming back to. The vocals, the instrumentals, the structure; it's all good.

In addition to my previous comment, I should say that tomorrow, December 13, is Ale's birthday. You should celebrate by reacting to a The Warning song.

I see you're suffering from the earworm effect. I often have a TW song running through my head, they have some innate ability to write these songs that just stick with you. It's uncanny. Since you're all in, best path forward is to continue with the Queen of the Murder Scene album, see a comment below with all the links.

I love this band also! From their older stuff to their new I cannot think of a song that I do not like. They are great rock n rollers but their ballads are also kick ass! Black Holes and Revenant are two that come to mind right away. Lizzy Hale said they are fearless and in your face and she was sure right on that! Thanks for your reaction and now subscribed!

The Warning just keeps getting better. Survive is my favorite song from their second album, XXI Century Blood. Dust to Dust is my favorite from their third album, Queen of the Murder Scene (a concept album about a woman whose infatuation leads her to insanity, murder, and suicide). I also recommend Crimson Queen (sung by Dany), Red Hands Never Fade (Dany), The End (Stars Always Seem to Fade) (Pau), and the title track (Dany) from QotMS. Their fourth album, Error, is easily their best. Disciple (sung by Dany and Pau), Evolve (Dany), Error (Dany), Money (Dany), 23 (Pau), and Breathe (Pau by herself on piano) are all excellent tracks.
