I have all settings to default and the dimensions appear outside the wall instead of inside when I click on auto room dimensions

I am trying to shelves into the wall but they are sticking out. Anyone knows how to shelves to be in the wall instead of sticking them out. I am using X14

I cannot edit the dimensions. I click and the inch numbers do not appear to edit. I get an object frame with a bunch of settings.
