I’ve spent 22 years in the US Navy. Though our experiences and missions traveling the world’s oceans are much different, times out at sea and the feeling away from our families are undeniably the same. Your videos brought back memories that I will always cherish, but waking up in my own bed and seeing the smile of my beautiful wife and kids made all those sacrifices worth it. Your videos are a testament to your hard work and dedication to your career and your family. Congrats on all your successes.

@@aviovintage not really a scripted plot. I fish for a living, and there's no way to script it. I don't fish for crab, which is one of the easiest fisherys to work in, though. I scallop, out of New Jersey. They got the name of the show because of the profession, not the fishery. Dont be fooled.

Dear Chief, You are a great storyteller. Everything, from your voice, to your diction, to the way you intricately piece together all aspects of the story and finally present them so wonderfully; you almost make us live the actual moments you describe. The patience and dedication both of your's and your family's, especially your wife's, that's what makes it all worth it. Best wishes to you in these trying times, stay safe, stay healthy and God bless.

I lke following your youtube channel. I once was a US Navy Service Member and US Coast Guard Service Member for a total of 12 years. Time does stand still, but since I have been out for the second time of over 14 years from the US Coast Guard, I can only reflect on the time I did serve. Some things I miss, and some I don't. Your youtube channel is so well done, so well put together and shows a just a mer glimpse of what sea life actually is for those who don't understand. The calling to sea is wonderful, the missing of the sea hurts. There seems to be no happy medium, but so happy it was shared this way. Chief MAKOi, you deserve time at home. Have a good rest at home.

That was quite emotional at the end. but your partner clearly has done this many times over the years. I love the feeling of stepping off the ship, the moment you walk down the gangway and onto land you feel like your free ! and the best part is knowing everything back onboard is being taken care of and you can just relax and enjoy your vacation time. it takes a lot of dedication to work onboard for long periods of time like you do, My contracts thankfully are 2 months on and 2 off and were paid year round. to do 7 months is a lot, especially for a chief engineer. you have a great attitude towards your job and the company are lucky to have someone like you. Thanks for more good content. you inspire me to want to make videos as a chef onboard the research vessel I work on!

Beautiful vid, you have a beautiful wife, you are beautiful people! I joined the British Merchant Navy straight from school ( sea school ) back in 1980, I loved it, but I wasn`t self-disciplined enough to appreciate the opportunity laid before me, I just took everything for granted. I left the navy less than two years later, following a family tragedy, the company even made sure that I got home from abroad as quickly and stress-free as possible, again I took for granted. Eventually, I joined the Army, the rest is history, as they say. Life at sea is not for everyone, but what job/career is? But the rewards are almost incomparable, self-development, close-knit reliable team environment, and easily achievable career advancement if desired and of course, travel and adventure, what's not to love?! Keep the vids coming mate, I`m enjoying every one of them :)
