Chiefs Likely Moving to Kansas?

The Kansas City Chiefs took a big step closer to moving across state lines with the approval of STAR bonds for a new stadium in Kansas. The team will have to wait six seasons before officially moving, but the funding is being sent to the governor's desk and is expected to be signed.

My plan would be build the stadium in Loch llody right on the state line. The field divide at 50yd line, so half the stadium in KS and the other MO. KS side has gambling and MO side has weed. Everyone wins

Born in KS, raised in MO and now live in Denver. Im ok with them moving to KS BUT they better have a natural grass field in that Dome or retractable roof. Vegas, AZ, some Euro indoor soccer stadiums have roll in/out natural grass fields so make it work.

It amazes me all the experts dont get it. The vote had nothing to do with the chiefs it was about a royals stadium downtown. Why would people in independence raytown lees summit blue springs vote to give up 81 guaranteed dates a year and the added inconvenience of going downtown? The chiefs should have stayed out of it but if they want to go to ks they can have any victory parades @ memorial hall and fly into topeka. PS the nfl playoff dates have no bearinng in the day the lease expires. If they move i say start demo February 1st.

As a someone from Kansas, I wouldn’t mind seeing them move to Kansas. But ultimately I’d rather them stay at Arrowhead for as long as possible. Really doesn’t matter to me which side of the river they’re on. Just as long as it’s in KC.

Honestly if you live anywhere near there it's not that big of a deal. They're not moving that far and if you're a part of Jackson County you should be happy. You don't have to drive far to go see the Chiefs and you don't have to cover the taxes. Win Win

A domed field would lose some homefield advantage by not rattling visiting teams in inclement weather and make fhe Chiefs less acclimated to play away games in inclement weather. Pretty lame. And Kansans chomping at the bit to get the Dynasty over there have to realize Mahomes will be past his prime and at the tail end of his career by the time he gets to KS. Reid will be gone and every other current KC player. Just saying.

I think the leadership of Kansas City and the state kind of dropped the ball here. Took the Chiefs for granted. I think. They left it up to a bunch of grumpy taxpayers who didn't want to pay for something downtown. They didn't see the big picture and ever think they could actually lose the team over this. Missouri should spend zero dollars in Kansas. Let them pay for a a stadium with kansas on the hook for 100%. Make no mistake Overpaying a team to come never works. In St Louis we used PSLs to get the Rams then they left again on a whim. Move already I can root for the Chiefs without spending any money on it. Kansas will discover that every penny that goes to the Chiefs is money not spent in Kansas for kansas. The Chiefs can leave since Al Davis has proven u cant stop a move. Let the Chiefs leave if they want. Kansas had better get the Chiefs to sign on the dotted line before forking over a penny. Missouri will not overpay for a luxury item like an NFL team. States have real needs. Not sure where kansas is getting the money from except to stiff the whole state for a stadium they will never get to attend.

The only pennies coming out of Kansans pockets is the sales tax that is specifically only coming from the stadium district. If anything, Missourians will also be paying for the stadium when they buy food, alcohol, and merch at the stadium lol.
