So sad that Tina did Gilligans Island. She was actually one of the most promising new actors in the late 50s. Her role in Gods Little Acre was superb. She held her own on that film. Whoever she had as an agent needs to be placed in the hall of shame. When you go from playing in depth to one dimensional roles, its heartbreaking.

It's an agent's job to find work for their client. It's then up to said client to accept the job or not. Gene Hackman was offered the part of Mike Brady after being nominated for an Oscar only a couple years earlier. He wisely turned it down. Tina could've done the same. Who knows where her career would've gone. Although, it's quite possible she still would've ended up on an episode of The Love Boat. 😀

I think Tina Louise was more beautiful - I like tall women and redheads - than Dawn Wells and thought so then, too. But when I was a teen who watched Gilligan’s Island reruns, I thought Mary Ann was hotter than Ginger. It’s difficult to say why. Maybe she seemed closer to my age. Well, the impression endured. I still think Louise was more beautiful and Mary Ann hotter.
