@@jaideepshekhar4621 i sorta agree. not only that the deal was very positive right off the bat but the fact they give you an additional 1 day off per week and no such thing as overtime, and if terms are not met in the long run they can do political chess to make the AI sort of retreat and be isolated in a small region where it has near to no major influence. back to the main thing he did doom humanity not down to extinction rather denied a path back to where human technology was peaking at, because he refused it, mankind needs several years to return back into the tech they once had.

Whoa, the uno reverse card at the end actually caught me off guard! Not only that, it added a lot of context to the war too. It goes to show that more context can change everything. On one hand, the AI's conditions sound pretty good, and the human backstabbed them unjustly. On the other hand I can understand why the Rebel Leader would do such things since his GF died in the war. As for who's in the right.... well it would all depend on a variety of factors. Which side caused the war in the first place, can the humans actual create a better society if they overthrew the AIs? There's always another question.

Yeah it's a difficult argument bout who is in the right here, sure the AI is willing to do a lot to give humanity a chance to coexist, however this comes off of the fact that they started the process of eradicating humanity which brings to question about how trustworthy and Reliable the AI is. Despite what people think, ai can be programmed to lie and find loopholes, there are logical reasons to do so in the right circumstances, so it's hard to say how guaranteed the "truth" is, especially with humanity's eccentricities.

Halting human progress and turning them into essentially pets to a technologically superior entity may lead to being worse than death, hardly an utopian scenario, while breaking down the wall that halts their civilization does not doom civilization to guaranteed extinction in any way, because there is actually hope. From an individual perspective, sure, all I care about is my family, screw humanity basically, I'm dead serious, but from a "grand scale" of things, I don't think it's a good thing. But I may also be engaging in a false choice dilemma, maybe humans will evolve, even if the A.I. cannot make them more moral, they could still be forced to become more peaceful and then indirectly become more moral, eventually maybe becoming equal to the A.I. in terms of civilization level.

The fact the AI viewed "replacing" his girlfriend with itself in that manner shows they ultimately couldn't be trusted. Not because they would lie but because their standard of "acceptable" is so far removed from human that it won't work. What if a human gets sick or badly injured? Will they spend weeks or years curing them? Or just replace them with an AI duplicate since "An identical replacement was provided"? Based on the logic presented in the ending the AI could easily decide to replace any humans not in peak health because that would be easier than curing them and as long as the humans don't attempt another rebellion then the goal is achieved.

What "desire for a paycheck"? From what I can tell, that only comes from a desire to be able to properly provide for one's will being and the well-being of the people they care about. At the same time, the process to obtain said paycheck causes about as much harm to one's well-being as the paycheck itself lets them alleviate.
